Instructions For Use:

• Apply 1-2 layers stockinet over the affected body part and additional padding can be used.

• Wear surgical gloves.

• Before opening the package, choose the roll of proper size.

• Immerse the roll in room temperature water (21-24°C). Immerse the roll in water for

4-6 seconds and squeeze it 2-3 times firm. Warmer than 21-24°C water shortens the

set time, while cooler than 21-24°C water lengthens it. If the roll is immersed in water above

27°C, an increase in exotherm may be noted and setting time is shortened rapidly.

• Wrap spirally, overlapping the previous layer by one-half or two-thirds the width of the roll.

To maintain proper tension is very important. Take care to avoid excessive tightness.

The strength can be determined by the number of layers used. Just 2-3 layers provide a

string nonweight-bearing cast and 4-6 layers are typically adequate for weight-bearing cast.

• If additional layers desired after the initial wrap has set, and additional roll should be

overlapped on itself to achieve good bounding.

• Smooth and rub the surface to achieve good contact between layers. Keeping smoothing

can mold the wrap. Connectcast and Connectcast poly are sufficiently cured to further

molding in 3-5 minutes after immersion in the water. So application should be finished in

the set time. Allow about 10 minutes for sufficient cure and let patients not move during this time.

• Connectcast/poly may be windowed, trimmed or removed with traditional cast saw equipment.

Caution:

1. Surgical gloves should be worn while applying the roll. The uncured polyurethane resin will

adhere to unprotected skin and clothing. So care should be take to avoid contacting

unprotected areas of patient’s skin and clothing.

2. Care should be taken to avoid punching and damaging the pouch, as this will cause the roll

cure prematurely in the package. Each pouch should be gently squeezed prior to opening to

check suitability for application. The roll should be soft and pliant.

Do not use tape that feels hard.

3. Open only one roll at a time and use it immediately, because room humidity can cause cure.

4. All application suitability should be the responsibility of doctor or a qualified and on-site

medical professional.

5. This product is for single use only, discard after single use.

6. Do not use after expiry date. If over the expiry date, please discard it.

7. Single use only. Latex free.

Storage:

Store in a cool, dry and dark place. Avoid direct sunlight. The proper temperature is 15-30°C

and humidity should be less than RH 60%.
