Candidates who wish to obtain a certificate of competence without attending a course, can enrol for a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment. Fibre Institute (Pty) Ltd will set-up a proctor and time for your exam to:
- Verify and assess experience (in the field)- Verify and assess skills (practical ability)- Verify and assess knowledge (understanding)- Book an exam time slot

To receive a CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCE at Fibre Institute (PTY) Ltd the applicable candidate needs to comply to the following measured results:- Practical assessments - Competent or Not Yet Competent- Theoretical assessment - 65% pass rate- Successful submission of a portfolio of evidence to be moderated and assessed according to the Skill Act regulations:• POE submissions must be done within six weeks of training• First submission is inclusive in training fee as well as a second remedial submission• Any subsequence submissions or submissions after the time period will carry an additional cost
