Tourism and Development Objectives and skills Structural Analysis of Tourism is an initiation course to the tourism phenomenon designed for those masters who have a bachelor degree in a diverse scientific area. The complexity of the tourism phenomenon, its origins and development processes, its multifaceted nature and multipurpose, reflected in the diversity of the tourism types, tourist destinations and tourist experiences, will be worked having in mind the perspective and the concepts of various sciences that are devoted to this subject. Also the perspective of other stakeholders in the tourism process as the ones from the industry and the ones from the public will be considered. The unit is predominantly organized on a model of practical classes that seek to foster debate and reflection having in mind the multiple tourism issues, their definitions and problematic. Group presentation and discussion of case studies provided by the Professor. It will take place in the classroom at the end of the semester, 30% of the final grade.
