The hymns listed here and on the hymn board in the front of the church are found in the Red Hymnals in your pew. Feast of St. Michael and All Angels
Genesis 28:10-17 Jacob left Beersheba and went toward Haran. And he came to a certain place
and stayed there that night, because the sun had set. Taking one of the stones of the place, he put it under his head and lay down in that place to sleep. And he dreamed, and behold, there was a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God were ascending and descending on it! And behold, the Lord stood above it and said, “I am the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie I will give to you and to your offspring. Your offspring shall be like the dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south, and in you and your offspring shall all the families of the earth be blessed. Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” And he was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.”
Psalm 103:1-22 BCP 466
Revelation 12:7-12 Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon.
And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!”
John 1:47-51 Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite
indeed, in whom there is no deceit!” Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!” Jesus answered him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.” And he said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST MEMBERS Rene Ahwal, David Bladen, Napoleon and Augusta Onyechi, and Bonnie Verone! WELCOME VISITORS: We welcome all our visitors this morning! You will find a Holy Eucharist Booklet in the pew rack, to help you follow the prayers and order of the service. We invite you to join us after Mass for refreshments, in the parish house (to your left as you exit the church). LET’S HELP OUR SEMINARIANS! Please drop your loose change into the “Cents for Seminarians” jug in the courtyard after Mass this morning. Items remaining after today will be donated to the HOPE thrift store. ANNUAL PLEDGE DRIVE: Our annual pledge dr ive has begun. Each parishioner will receive a series of letters, addressing our spiritual responsibilities. As Christians, we are asked to support the work of God’s Kingdom, especially through the ongoing efforts of St. Alban’s. Included with each letter will be a pledge card to return to the church, either by mail or in the alms basin. After your pledge card has been returned, you will not receive any additional pledge drive letters. “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Lk. 12:34.
