  • Figurative Language Group Presentations

    With your group of 2-4 people, you will teach the class about one of aspects of Figurative Language. These presentations will help your friends learn about figurative language.

    1. Each expert group will work collaboratively to produce teaching session (10 15 minutes), about their particular aspect of figurative Language. Each teaching session must incorporate a. Learning goal b. Accessing your prior knowledge c. New Information d. Application (Activity based on the new information) e. Goal: Revisit and ensure all students have an understanding of what was taught.

    2. Your group must engage the class in learning. You might ask questions, prepare a hand-out, or play a learning game with the class. (Note: if you have a hand-out, you must give it to Liz the day before your presentation so that she can photocopy it.)

    3. Each member of your group must speak during the presentation. All speaking needs to be slow, loud,

    and clear so that everyone in the room can understand it.

    4. Your presentation must last for at least ten minutes and no more than fifteen minutes. When fifteen minutes have passed, Liz will tell you to stop, even if youre not done. If you think you need more time, please negotiate this with Liz before your group begins their presentation.
