Onomatopeia A sound word. The dog went bow-wow.

Alliteration Repetition of beginning sound. Mrs. Moore may have many moths in her

house.

Personification Giving human qualities to something not

human. The computer doesn’t like me. The

camera loves me.

Idiom A well known expression that doesn’t

mean what it says. A dummy and his money easily lose each

other.
