Just had a call from Police media.
• Police are pursuing some men in the Algester area. • There is a cordoned area between Algester Road, Learoyd Rd, Paradise Rd and the park. • All schools in the area have been put in to lockdown, and residents have been urged to stay indoors. • At this stage, I believe it is only affecting Algester SS- but may spread to other schools.
This is all the info at the moment- I'll keep you updated if anything changes.
Thanks

The school will not be closing Paul. The principal has been advised to make contact with his ARD for advice on how to manage the school community, should that be required.
Regional Facilities is arranging for bottled water and will arrange porta loos if needed. It is likely that water service will be restored within the next hour. The Facilities Account Manager will confirm this shortly.

Hi all
John Fitzgerald at Kenmore High just called to say their water mains have been cut by workers outside the school. It means no flushing toilets and no drinking water.
John was planning on letting the kids goes home shortly, based on advice from facilities {I assume the RFO).
Chris/Wendy .... I asked John to contact you as well so you are in the loop. Rob Seiler is aware.
Cheers Paul

It all seemed a bit of a heightened reaction as the water has only been off for 30 minutes and Year 11 and 12 students are on an exam block so aren't at school.

Hi Greg A tragic ending
Spent the morning at B'Berg East- met with the SGO around communication strategies and internal support strategies. All in place
Took with me was able to provide practical support at the school.
The sad background to this incident was that the event( a morning at the pool) was a reward for high achieving students (academic excellence) -a special celebration at the Bunda berg pool. The year 4 student was a well-respected and high achieving student.
WH&S are currently investigating the incident - looking at the pool protocols and safety issues. The school had risk management processes in place and variation of school routine records in place. from our office his now working with the school to support in the responses required by WH&S officials-is also aware.
The Wallaville School was also in attendance -we have made contact with the Principal and school and ensured the necessary support is in place.
