Fr. Gennie Diwa commissioned me to compose a Filipino Exultet that most presiderswould be able to sing. Attached thus is the notation of a very simple Filipino Extiltet,faitMul to the Misa ng Bayang Filipino, in antiphonal mode.The presider chants two verses before the choir and congregation sing their response.The rnusical score includes the entire Exultet in the key of C and in the key of bU.The enclosed CD includes 6 tracks:

a. The entire Filipino Exultet (with presider, choir and accompaniment)b. The parts of the presiderc. The rnelody that the choir (soprano and fenor) and congregation singd. The second voice of the choir (alto and bass)e. The descant (soprano soloist)f. The entire Filipino Exultet

For the Presider:a. Those who can reach high "c" are advised to use the score in the key of c

which is easier for guitarists and keyboardists to play. Presiders who cannotreach the high ooc" or "do" can avail of the version in the key of Bb.

b. Your verses are chanted. Each melodic line consists of only three or fournotes.

c. Each line is basically sung in monotone except for the last word.d. Feel free to phrase each line according to your comtbrtable singing.

The cD serves as a guide. Feel free to adapt your chanted lines.For the Choir:

a' The vocal arangement is limited to two voices: soprano and tenor sing themelody; alto and bass sing the lower notes

b. The first time you sing the antiphon, sing in unison, so that the congregationcan hear and learn the melody. you may sing the second voice as you ,irrgthe antiphon a second or third time.

For the Soloist:a. A descant is provided for a soprano soloist. The notes though are not included

in the score.b. Choir directors: feel free to assign this descant to half of the sopranos or the

tenors.

7. For the Accompanists:a- The score includes the Exultet in the key of C and the key of Bb. If you can

master playing the Exultet in the key of Bb, you would be doing the presider afavor. Ultimately, adjust to the vocal range of the presider. franspose to thekey ofA ifnecessary.
