I am going to be explaining in detail about the film noir, how it was successful and a lot more.

Film noir is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylishHollywood crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize cynical attitudes and sexual motivations. Hollywood's classic film noir period is generally regarded as extending from the early 1940s to the late 1950s. Film noir of this era isassociated with a low-key black-and-white visual style that has roots in German Expressionist cinematography

The Motion Picture Production Code was the set of industry moral censorship guidelines that governed

the production of the vast majority of United States motion pictures released by major studios from 1930 to 1968. It is also popularly known as the Hays Code,

after Hollywood's chief censor of the time, Will H. Hays. The Motion Pictures Producers and Distributors Association (MPPDA), which later

became the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), adopted the code in 1930,

began effectively enforcing it in 1934, and abandoned it in 1968, in favour of the subsequent MPAA film rating system. The Production Code spelled out what was acceptable

and what was unacceptable content for motion pictures produced for a public audience in the United States.

The questions of what defines film noir and what sort of category it is provoke continuing debate. "We'd be oversimplifying things in calling film noir oneiric, strange, erotic, ambivalent, and cruel": this set of attributes constitutes the first of many attempts to define film noir made by French critics Raymond Borde and Etienne Chaumeton in their 1955 book Panorama du film noir American 1941–1953 (A Panorama of American Film Noir), the original and seminal extended treatment of the subject. They emphasize that not every film noir embodies all five attributes in equal measure - one might be more dreamlike; another, particularly brutal.

The reason that my favourite film it double indemnity is because he film Includes most of the rules in the hays code, which makes it better than Any other types. The film was made by Billy Wilder who is an excellentDirector and has produced films like The Apartment which also was a

Successful film. The film included good actors like Barbara Stanwyck. Overall the film was great .
