Wild ChildFilm Opening Analysis(Rom-Com)Jainisha Navinkumar

The establishing shot shows the location which is shown within the two minutes of the opening of the movie, this could suggest that it could be set in a place by the sea. In the background music there is a piano instrumental which is quite calming, this again associates with the sea.

There is a close-up of the main/supporting character in the opening. The character is blonde so the audience may instantly judge her as a typical dumb blonde due to stereotyping.

The setting in this screenshot is of her bedroom in the opening, the props seem to be expensive and quite girly so the audience may think of her as a spoilt rich girl. The background music also changes into an electric, girly, upbeat song which could suggest her mood. Just after the credits are done at the beginning, the screen fades into the first scene.

The crowd shot shows the main character and other people who are her friends which shows her popularity and in most cases it is typical due to most stereotypes of good looking blondes being very popular.

The crowd shot shows the teenagers taking another woman's belongings out of the van. The main character doesnt like that this person is moving in so she has invited her friends to destroy/ruin it. The audience wouldnt be surprised since a blondes personality is stereotyped as a mean girl. This is in the opening to show her personality.

The long shot shows the setting of the main character's home, this shows the audience she is rich and by inviting all those people to destroy someone elses belonging shows shes also spoilt, just like the stereotype suggests.

In the opening there is another close-up that shows the character slamming the calendar in stress which could suggest the reason for her actions.Conventions:
