Our first idea is that you never really get to know the characters and you watch them from afar the whole time. You would watch as this character goes through a mundane life-style but they notice the same one thing every day –only they can see it. The sightings of the thing become more frequent until eventually we see no more of the character (who the audience assumes has gone missing /been abducted /killed). The film then starts again but with a new character and then finishes before they also disappear.
