A movie poster is a good form of advertisement as it can be printed in various sizes and context for a number of different locations, as well as international markets.

They can be shown in numerous locations including cinemas, billboards, buses, DVD’s and newspapers.

When researching film posters, I saw that lots of the poses for the images are cliché (been used numerous times). I found an article on the Empire (one of the leading film magazine’s) website that named seven of the cliché poses and had lots of classic examples for each.

The seven poses listed are:
