Theme
The rain in this film can be classed as biblical element.
After crawling through the sewage pipe to escape Andy falls out onto the ground, a free man. When he leaves the pipe it is pouring with rain, he takes
off his shirt and stands, embracing the rain. It could be said that as he stands in the rain, letting it wash him he is washing away his sins to return
to the world a clean man, to start fresh.
