Film Treatment (The Tea Boy A film By Hamim Tak)

The film starts with showing two feet which are shown walking across from one side to the other of a room and is eventually shown sitting down on a sofa seat. Then a person is shown sitting in front of a dressing table with a large mirror in-front. The person is shown putting on make-up, particularly lipstick, but the persons face is kept a mystery. Then the person gets up and goes towards the bed and sits down. The persons face is still kept a mystery.

Then the next scene begins where a man named Alex is shown sitting on his office desk working when he hears a knock at the door. When Alex says Come in, it is the offices peon at the door with a cup of tea for Alex in his hand. Then the tea boy enters the office and puts the cup on the desk. Alex in what appears to be taking the cup from the Tea Boys hand grabs his hand. The Tea Boy quickly pulls away his hand away.

Then Alex is shown sitting on a garden swing working on his cellphone when his wife arrives. Alexs wife, named Janice, tries to initiate a conversation with him. Alex is less than interested in talking to his wife. His wife continues to talk to Alex and he continues to either ignore her or does not reply properly. Finally Alex gets up in a girly manner and leaves. His wife stands there still.

Then Alex is shown sitting on a chair gazing at the wall. Then a fantasy which is going on in Alexs wife begins. Alex is shown sitting in a car with the Tea boy besides him. In his fantasy, Alex imagines that the Tea Boy has the same feelings for him as he has for the Tea Boy. The Tea Boy is shown raising his hand to grab Alexs hand as an romantic gesture and both gaze into each others eyes. The fantasy ends here.

In the next scene, Alex is shown lying on his bed watching tv when his wife comes and lye down next to him on the bed. Janice is shown trying to engage in conversation with him yet again he is not interested in talking to her. Janice starts massaging Alexs head and Alex in return complains he is too tired and turns his face towards the wall and goes to sleep.

The Alex is shown looking at his cars engine. The car is parked on the side of the road and it seems as the car is broken down. Alex, after trying to fix the car and failing, decides to look for a lift home. The tea boy happens to be passing by and decides to stop and give a lift to Alex. Alex then sits on the bike and leaves with the tea boy. Alex, during the bike ride tries to get intimate with the tea boy and tires to grab him like a girl when the tea boy presses the brakes too hard.

Then the next scene begins with the Tea Boy is shown sitting and talking to girl and it is implied that the girl is his girlfriend. Alex is shown in his car passing by and observes the tea boy talking to his girlfriend. Alex is shocked by this and ends up heartbroken as his chance at true love is missed. He rushes from that side.

Then the movie takes place with the first scene. The person from the first scene who was kept a mystery was Alex who is dressed up like a girl. Alex goes and sits on his bed and opens the drawer of his bedside table. Alex reaches for a packet in the drawer and stares at it. It is later revealed that the packet is labelled sleeping pills. Alex, gazing at the packet, he gets a flashback where he re-lives his moments with the tea boy and how he found out about the tea boys girlfriend. The tea boy decides to take the pills and it is implied that he has committed suicide and is dead.
