DBE Requirements The City has not established a race-and
gender-conscious DBE participation goal Current focus is Small Business Outreach
The FAA approved a triennial DBE goal of 4.44%for fiscal years 2016-19, to be achieved through fosteringSmall Business participation and outreach requirements.
Project is in part funded by FAA and is subject to 49 CFR Part 26 and USDOT DBE Program
Certified DBE FirmsTo participate in this opportunity as a DBE, only firms certified by the City or
another AZUCP member in the specified scopes of work shall be
considered in calculating DBE participation.

Major work elements include
Demolition of existing run-up area asphaltic concrete (AC)
pavement
Construction of nearly 20,000 SY of new AC Pavement
Excavation of existing west basin to add additional capacity
Grading and drainage improvements

placement of dust palliative) and replacing existing crushed
aggregate(“Palm Springs Rock”) slope protection
Installation of storm drain pipe, manholes and catch basins
Installation of LED and incandescent edge lights
Removal of chain-link fence and installation of approximately
520 feet of CMU block wall
Construction and Removal of two temporary run-up areas,
including removal and replacement of conduit and edge
lights.

Rocks and cobbles will be encountered and must be removed prior to lime treatment (2-1/2” and larger)

The Project is divided into 8 phases with subsequent sub phases
Phases 1-4 are located on the west side of the Airport
Phases 5-8 are located on the east side of the Airport
Primary Access for Phases 1 – 4 will be through the access gate
on W Williams Drive to the west staging area.
Primary access for phases 5-8 will be through Airport Access
Gate #7 to the east staging area
Contractor shall limit activities to designated haul routes and
staging areas.

Contractor Shall not use airport service roads for hauling
operations
Some phases require nighttime-work only
Caution should be taken to protect a fiber optic line south of
project area designated for grading and electrical installation.
Contractor is responsible for locating utilities
