    AT&T EXPANDS MOBILE INTERNET WIRELESS CAPACITY FROM

    BELLE ISLE TO DOWNTOWN DETROITAdditional Spectrum Expected to Improve Connectivity and Performance of Mobile Internet Data

    and Voice Connectivity

    DETROIT, MI, July 19, 2012 Customers visiting Belle Isle and those who live or work in downtown

    Detroit are expected to experience improvedmobile Internet coverage and voice performance as a

    result of continued investment and innovation byAT&T. The company announced today that it has

    completed a key initiative in its ongoing efforts to enhance the wireless capacity and performance of its

    mobile Internet network throughout downtown Detroit.

    AT&Ts new investment in Detroit is a critical step towards more opportunities for families across the

    region, said state Sen. Bert Johnson (D-Detroit). I am working every day in Lansing to reinvent

    Michigan, and AT&T is helping provide the tools businesses need to expand and to grow.

    The network enhancement adds new layers of frequency, also known as carriers, to 11 cell sites,

    three on Belle Isle and eight in downtown Detroit, to more efficiently manage available spectrum and

    increase mobile broadband capacity. The expansion helps manage ever-growing demand for mobile

    Internet services by allocating more network resources forAT&Ts mobile Internet network.

    smartphone customers get access to our entire national Wi-Fi network at no additional cost, and Wi-Fi
