AVIGNON BY PLANE
Paris Charles de Gaulle
The easiest way is to arrive at Paris CDG airport, then there is a direct train (TGV) from CDG airport (this journey
takes about 3 hours), but be careful while choosing your train. Be sure that it is direct from the airport to Avignon.
(Attention: there are 2 main railway stations in Avignon: Avignon Central Station (close to the city center) and
Avignon TGV station (a bit far from the center) see details at the end of this document)
It is also possible to head to Paris Gare de Lyon railway station, and take a train from there to Avignon (trains will
be more frequent in this case). To get to Gare de Lyon, take the RER B (city train) direction “Paris” (all trains are
going to the stop you want), and get off at the station “Chatelet-Les Halles”. Then, take the RER A direction “Noisy-
le-Grand” to “Gare de Lyon”, it is one stop away and will take 3 min. The trip from the airport to the railway station
“Gare de Lyon” should take about 55 min, and cost about 9€.

AVIGNON BY TRAIN
Even if you are traveling from abroad, it can be a worthy solution to reach Avignon by train. Thanks to the TGV fast train, Avignon is easy to reach from several French and European cities:
Marseille: 34 minutes (“Marseille Saint Charles” station)
Lyon: 1 hour (“Lyon Part Dieu” station)
Paris: 2 hours and 40 minutes (city center, “Paris Gare de Lyon” station), 3 hours (Charles de Gaulle airport, “Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV” station)
Geneva (airport): 3 hours and 30 minutes (“Geneve SNCF” station, also called “Geneva Cornavin”)
