“How could I deny such a blessing?”

This comment was shared by one of our

clients after witnessing the miracle of her

twins on an ultrasound provided at our

Florence Center. She was strongly

considering abortion as a solution for her

unplanned pregnancy but realized, through

seeing her children and hearing their hearts

beat, that she was blessed to be chosen as

the mother of these two children.

As the Christmas Season approaches, we

are reminded of another unwed mother

who said “Yes” to a blessing for all

mankind. Mary, the virgin Mother of Jesus,

responded in a similar manner when called

upon by God to bear His only Son. She

humbly stated,

“I am the Lord’s servant…may it be

done to me as you have said” (Luke

1:38) Through Mary’s obedience and

complete faith, we were each blessed

with the life of Jesus Christ and the

promise of eternal salvation.

May each of you be blessed this

Christmas season as you realize that your

partnership with Care Net Pregnancy

Services saves precious lives in

representation of the love of Christ, our

Lord.

The Fatherhood Program offered at

Care Net allows young men to take

steps to become the best father

possible for their children. These

young men meet with a Mentor Dad

for 20 weeks covering lessons such

as: The Risks of Smoking, Balancing

Work and Family and Anger

Management. Attendance incentives

are earned at each lesson and upon competing milestones in the course.

Eric W. a current Mentor Dad states……...

“When I ask the clients in our Fatherhood program at Care Net, why they

choose to come take classes, the answer I often hear is “I want to learn

how to be a great father”. This desire in their hearts is a seed planted,

that like in the parable of the mustard seed has the potential to grow into

a great tree. As a mentor in the Fatherhood program, I am given a great

opportunity to water this seed and to help these fathers grow to a deeper

realization of the precious gift of their child’s life and their role as a fa-

ther.”

Thank you to all of our Mentors and those who financially support Care

Net. Without you, this opportunity would not be available for our young

men.

Meet Our Center Directors! Meet Florence Center Director Sandy

I began my journey at Care Net in December, 2007 as an advocate. I first learned about Care Net through the Baby Bottle Campaign at my mother’s church. We not only filled the baby bottle but I took the volunteer information from the bottle and sent it back to Care Net. I was contacted, did the volunteer training and then began as an advocate. In January 2010 I accepted the position of Florence Center Direc-tor. I always felt once I retired I would like to volunteer somewhere. I just didn’t know it would be here dealing with unplanned pregnancies. I enjoy working with the volunteers and mentors. It is a blessing to see the changes in the lives of the children we deal with on a day to day basis. I have been married to my husband, Jim, for 28 years. We have been blessed with two sons. Our oldest, Matthew, is 24 years old and attends Antonelli College in Cincinnati majoring in massage therapy. Our other son, Michael, is 19 years old and is a sophomore at Transylvania College in Lexington majoring in history. I like to go to the theatre and watch plays, lis-ten to piano music, and do a little bit of scrapbooking. My favorite ice cream flavor is Graeter’s chocolate chip ice cream.

Meet Highland Heights Center Director…Fran I have been involved at Care Net for just over three years. I began as a volunteer mentor and advo-cate and I am now the Center Director for the Care Net Highland Heights Center. Care Net is a wonder-ful pro-life organization. I believe in the sanctity of life from conception to natural death and this or-ganization gives me the opportunity to work with both unplanned and planned pregnancies in advocat-ing, teaching parenting classes, material assistance and all the other services Care Net provides. We have the support, spirituality, and friendship that helps all of us do this ministry effectively. I have been married for 42 years and have two wonderful children and two wonderful grandchildren. Our daughter is 39 and our son is 36. Our grandson is 12 and our granddaughter is 9. They are all a joy! I enjoy many activities including photography and volunteering at the local hospital. In the past, I volunteered as an advo-cate at Pregnancy Center West for about 10 years. I also babysat part-time for my grandchildren while my daughter and her husband worked. As the grandchildren began to attend school full-time and my son-in-law was able to be the primary pro-vider I found myself with a lot of free time. That’s when I found the flyer in our Church bulletin regarding volunteering at Care Net. It all worked out perfectly. My favorite ice cream flavor is…..chocolate!

Meet Covington Center Director….Maria I am blessed to be the center director for our Covington location. I am originally from New York City, but Kentucky is now my home. I met and married my husband Tim after graduating with a B.A. in Ele-mentary Education and we have two children Wesley age 19 and Katelyn age 16. As my children matured and became more independent, I felt a calling to do something else. I really had no idea what that might be but God definitely had a plan. I learned of Care Net through a mission’s fair at Hebron Lutheran church. God led me to a table that had a display of Willow Tree figures on it which I was very much into collecting. The woman running the table started telling me about Care Net and I became fascinated with the idea of volunteering for a cause like this. I signed up for the training to become an advocate and mentor. Immediately I was surrounded by kind, loving, Christian woman who really showed me the love of God. I went into this praying I could make a difference in the lives of others, but to my surprise, Care Net has done exactly the same thing for me. Anyone who has ever had the opportunity to serve here will tell you there is just something so loving and healing about the place. I wake up every morning looking forward to my work day. My relationship with the Lord grows stronger every day I am with Care Net. After serving as a volunteer for about 6 months God decided to expand my involvement in Care Net. A new location was being opened in Covington and I was asked to take the position as Center Director. I was excited to take on the new challenge. If you’re at that point in your life where you feel like something is missing, I would advise you to give Care Net a try. You might just find more than you were looking for. In my spare time, I am a very diverse person. I enjoy anything from reading James Patterson books, to sky diving with my

church family. I also enjoy scrapbooking, making jewelry, shopping, dates with my friends, spending time with my family

and eating Graeter’s vanilla Ice cream!

Meet Our Center Directors! (cont’)

2011 Client Reunion Picnic On September 17th, 2011 Care Net hosted

the Second Annual Client Reunion Picnic. All current and past clients

received an invitation to join staff and volunteers to celebrate life. This

year we gathered on a beautiful day at President’s Park in Edgewood,

Ky. and enjoyed friends, food, fellowship and fun! Thanks to JTM for

the BBQ, to the volunteers who brought side dishes and to Chic-Fil-A for

the give-aways. The Client Reunion is becoming a treasured event for all

of us here at Care Net as we so appreciate the chance to reconnect with

our clients and the children we have helped save.

Meet Williamstown Center Director … Pam I have been involved with Care Net since 2006. Care Net Williamstown is down the street from my house. I used to go for walks and I just felt very drawn to the sign and felt like God was prompting me to get involved with Care Net. I began as a volunteer and later was hired as a program assistant and then as the Center Direc-tor. I am married and have two children. My daughter Alexandra is 8 years old; in 2010 we were able to adopt our son Nathan who is now 5 years old. Prior to coming to Care Net, I was a stay at home Mom who home schooled our daughter Alex. I enjoy being with my family and participating in outdoor activities, biking, volleyball, swimming, camping and reading. My favorite ice cream flavor is… Rocky Road!
