ADVENTUROUS BEAR RIDING WARRIOR.

Manny Ramos

Characters: I’ve always loved cartoon characters with minimal detail. It

fits my mythology because I want to think of the adventures that the warrior goes on are fun and nothing says that better than a cartoon.

Environment: I want the environment to be darker. Like an adventure there will be

some light along the way, but the best adventure are those that go into the unknown.

Lighting: Light coming from the background. Unsure of what going on now, but know

that the end goal is worth it.

Visual Effects: I want slow motion to depict the moments that should be seen as

important because those are the moments that impact us the most.

Color: I think that black is such a strong and elegant color. Mixed with red it displays

power and strength with fear. This is the idea I want expressed for the Warrior as well as the

environment around him.

Fonts: I want to keep the idea of pixels in the fonts, but I also want to include a scary

font for those sections in which the Warrior travels into the unknown.

Bouncing Ball Animation

The bouncing ball assignment was my introduction into Adobe After Effects

and was a simple assignment that taught me the complexity and potential of the

program. This still does not do the excitement of my first animation justice.

This assignment was the first one that displayed the program’s ability to be able to manipulate

something other than just shapes. I learned how to make text move and have my are art follow a

certain path as the video goes on and how to arrange the text to look as it moves along the path.

Motion Tiles and Expressions

This assignment demonstrated the potential that After Effects has when it comes to creating something that is truly

unique and cool. I thought this lecture was really fun and interesting. It started to dive into more complex ideas of

production and it was easy to get lost, but when you took the time to understand the knowledge was invaluable.

Personal Indent

This assignment was one of my favorite it allowed me to show some creativity and some of my personality to what I was

creating. I incorporated the expressions function that we had learned in class and I found something that I like to be able to

make a cool personal indent whenever I create a video.

This assignment was really helpful because it showed me the importance of having your

video set out for you visually before having the actual shots. Once the shots were filmed it

was easier to come in afterwards and just plug in the shot to you animatic.

Online Tutorial Assignment (Virus)

This was one of the more difficult assignment that truly displayed to me that this kind of stuff is hard work, but it is

so satisfying when you are done. I remember having the hardest time following the tutorial because it would just

get more and more complicated as it went on and it did not seem to show any sign of stopping. Once I got it done I

was very happy with the turn out and I thought the piece looked pretty impressive.

At this point in the class I was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I had my shots filmed and I

had plugged them into my animatic and I just needed to worry about getting the animations done, but I

had the animations thought out and I just needed to devote time and hard work to make them and input

them into the video. Easier said than done.

My Friend: Berry Story Paper

This assignment tested out story writing skills and instructed us to give the viewer more a glimpse into the

backstory for the trailer by writing out an episode or the synapsis of the trailer. I wanted to take it a bit further

by writing everything leading up to the trailer. I felt like it would give the person reading more incentive to go

and watch the trailer while still not giving away any portion of the full length movie and the plot line that it

ventures off to.

After long hours and late nights of animating I was able to create what I had envisioned at the

beginning of the semester. It was a lot of work, but I am very proud of the turn out!
