Introduction Dictionary definition of Scapegoating: [NOUN] If you say that someone is made a scapegoat for something bad that has happened, you mean that people blame them and may punish them for it although it may not be their fault. [VERB] To scapegoat someone means to blame them publicly for something bad that has happened, even though it was not their fault.

My topic is ‘scapegoating’ for my Glocal

English final project. I was interested about meaning of scapegoating. This word means such as a victim of a false accusation. Also, I like mystery and criminal movie and drama. When I watch movie or drama, there are so many victims like a scapegoating. They are not only get a trouble, but also they are usually social inferiors. They have no power, money, and status. They can’t do anything when they get a trouble because they are weak. It is like a fixed formal. I want to know more about scapegoating, so I choose this topic. I found three of drama and movies for scapegoating. If you have a good look, these are having almost similar contents and repertories. As I said, it is like a fixed formal. Let’s look at formal of scapegoating.

Comparison

First, Let’s compared with ‘The present of room number 7’ and ‘Gabdongi’, As you know these two things are having very similar repertoires. The film and drama appeared that social weakers who got no power, no money, and no status were discriminated against from social strong person. Usually, these repertoires are made viewers expressing their anger and sadness. These are using presence of the father make viewers sad. In conclusion, point was seen almost same scapegoating from film and drama. Second, Let’s watch Hide-and-seek. There was a woman who was having mental trauma that she never has her own things until now. She killed people because she want to their house and valuable things and then she lived their house. She told main character that his brother made her scary and he killed people. She was crazy. Main character’s brother got three types of scapegoating. Let’s look at this. First is he had an incurable skin disease was the first type of scapegoating because he is a weaker from when he was born. Second is he framed a sex offender because main character was adopted but when he saw his brother, he felt aversion. Therefore he wants to leave with his brother, he lied to police officer. And then his brother went to jail. Third is he framed murderer who killed neighborhoods and then hid their house by real killer. As you know, these repertoires are almost same.

Finally, we will see conclusion of

scapegoating.

Page 19: Final project

Conclusion

Even if a small group makes easy to one

person for scapegoating. When they get together, they can’t feel guilty. However, when they are alone or when they grow,

they will regret for doing like that. Nowadays, it is a serious topic of Korea. Teenagers know what they do and that is very bad, but they don’t feel guilty. We have to know and we have to feel this is

really serious. Violent dramas, movies and TV shows make people violent and people

know it is not quite rude or bad.

We have to know where we did wrong.

Do not make Scapegoating.
