Final ResearchFonts & Interview Themes

FONTS

I did some research into which fonts would be most suitable for my headline and my subtitles.I looked on a web site called www.myfonts.com and found some very useful fonts.I finalised my decision to five different fonts, for the headline, the subtitles and the main body.

Masthead

-This font is very simple, even though it is written in a smooth way, which connotes the smooth with what the artists rap.

-This font is created to look like street graffiti, which connotes the street like lifestyle and criminal tendencies from rappers.

-This font is very neutral, but has a kind of artistic lenience, which reflects the rap genre.

I decided to go more the font on the top right, as it suits the hip-hop and rap perfectly, and it is a very noticeable font, which will appeal to the target audience.

Cover Lines-This font connotes the elegance and flow oh Hip-Hop

- This font reflects the school life, which was very crucial for many rappers, and makes it iconic for the genre.

-The font is also very elegant, which connotes the artistic side of Rap.

I decided that the font on the bottom right is the most suitable, as its is very bold and attracts the readers attention. The font on the top left, although being very good at representing flow of hip-Hop, it is too extreme for my magazine. The font on the top right looks good, and I like the fact that it resembles handwriting, like rappers who write down their lyrics, but it is thin and not very noticeable.

INTERVIEW THEMES

When I researched different online Interviews with Musicians, the some topics were always repeated. Some topics for example were : the musicians background, a recent concert, an album which will be released soon, a change in the musicians career or the future of the musicians.I decided that in my interview I will shortly address each topic, as I believe addressing a topic for a short time, keeps the reader interested, as it doesn’t get boring. Also I can give the reader a lot of information, concerning different topics through little text.My interview is mostly going to involve the artists background, representing his idols as sort of motivating ‘heros’ or ‘helpers’, through the theory of Propp’s characters. In this case the interviewed artist would be ‘the princess’.
