News Firstly, I would like to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. I wanted to give a brief round-up of the past year and what we are looking forward to in 2019. It has been yet another roller coaster of a year with the club on the verge of closing its doors. However, thanks to the generosity of a few of the members, the clubs bank balance was increased so that we are able to keep open for the time being. This also meant that the three members of staff kept their jobs and the club remains open for use! The regular Sunday afternoon music sessions has seen a variety of music genres over the last year with the most popular genre being: Motown and Rock ‘N’ Roll. These, free to enter music events are set to continue in the new year and remain to be open to non- members and we would love to see you there. The raffle helps towards the cost of having the performers and if you have any unwanted Christmas gifts that could make great raffle prizes and you would like to donate these to the club, please get in contact with us. In addition to the regular music events, the club has seen other events such as a Ladies night, Gents night, Neon themed party night and a spooky circus of horrors themed Halloween party. Thanks go to Lianne and Tasha for organizing these great events and we look forward to seeing some of these events returning in 2019. Lianne has also organized two clairvoyant evenings this year, which have proven to be very popular. On the 6th November we had a visit from BBC presenter Julie Reinger, who was presenting Treasure Quest on BBC radio Norfolk's Sunday morning show. Her visit was brief and she found the clue very quickly without help. She had just enough time to eat a couple of slices of Bacon and for us to plug that afternoon’s music event, before moving on to the next clue. Once again the year will be rounded off with a New Years Eve Family Party. The drinks remain reasonably priced and you can dance the night away with the disco, while the kids enjoy some fun games. Whilst, the club’s finances remain on a knife edge, 2019 is shaping up to be a busy year. An evening step aerobics class starts on 7th January and this news is so hot off the press, we are still sorting the details. You can keep up to date with events that are coming up, by either going onto the clubs website www.meltonclub.org or via our new Facebook page. Anyone can become a member at any time during the year, but, January is when the subscriptions are due and therefore a great time join and help support the club. In 2019 we will start to repair the damaged wall in the hall and give the whole of the hall a fresh coat of paint. The committee and myself look forward to seeing you at the club, Regards Adrian (Chairperson of Melton Constable Country Club) Julie Reinger Presenter from BBC radio Norfolk.
