Programme TypeINTEC offers three types of programmes, namely National Qualifications, Provider Programmes, and Agent Programmes: National Qualifications are credit bearing qualifications registered on the NQF and accredited by a Quality Assurance Body.
Provider Programmes are unique to INTEC and are designed to increase and enhance your skills and knowledge within your chosen field.
Agent Programmes are programmes and qualifications for which INTEC offers tuition, but where INTEC does not issue the final certificate (the agent body issues the final certificate).

National Certificate:Bookkeeping NQF 3(SAQA ID No.: 58375)
This qualification is designed with the idea to introduce the basics of bookkeeping to
individuals entering the bookkeeping environment; this qualification is registered on the SAQA (South African
Qualifications Framework) and focuses mainly on the principles of bookkeeping. Students should be able to complete functions including Creditors control, payroll, IRP and VAT as well as Tax functions.
AccreditationThe National Certifi cate: Bookkeeping NQF 3 is accredited by ICB and FASSET.

The FETC Bookkeeping qualification as set out on the South African Qualifications
Framework refers to mainly the more senior functions of bookkeeping like the analysis of financial
year statements for companies as small as sole traders and as large as closed corporations. This is only a few of this really fulfilling programme that will see you knocking at the door of being a financial technician in Accounting.

National Diploma:Technical FinancialAccounting NQF 5(SAQA ID No.: 36213)
The Diploma is designed to ensure that you are competent in the software packages
that are commercially used to perform routine accounting functions. This course is for you if you are
unable to or do not wish to continue with your studies to become a Registered Chartered Accountant. It is designed with the objective of encouraging the widest possible access to the accounting profession.

The skills of the Junior Bookkeeper will encompass bookkeeping to trial balance
on the hand system as well as a functioning knowledge of a computerised bookkeeping /
accounting system. He / she will master source documents (tax invoices), the rules of double entry, subsidiary journals, the General Ledger, bookkeeping for the different inventory systems and bank and supplier statement reconciliation.

Certified Junior Bookkeeper – CJBIcb (SA)

AwardOnce you have completed the Certifi ed Junior Bookkeeper Course which entitles you to be awarded the designation, you are required to register with the ICB and pay all the necessary fees. Once this has happened, the ICB will issue Membership Certifi cates indicating the level of membership and designation. These will be valid until the 31 January of each year and renewable upon payment of annual subscriptions.

A Certified Senior Bookkeeper will able to complete the monthly bookkeeping function
as well as the annual accounting function. In addition to all the functions and tasks set out for
the Junior Bookkeeper, thus will also be competent in year-end accounting excluding the finalisation of business and personal income tax returns and will also be able to complete basic management accounts and have a working knowledge of cost accounting.

A Certified Technical Financial Accountant will able to operate with
management in an accounting environment. On completion of this programme learners will
have the Technical Financial Accountant comprehensive knowledge of bookkeeping, financial accounting, management accounting, cost accounting, personal and business taxation, business law and accounting control to name a few.

Bookkeeping to Trial BalanceA skills programme introducing a learner to source
documents, the rules of double entry, subsidiary journals, the general ledger, bookkeeping for the different
inventory systems and bank and creditors reconciliations. The programme will provide skills for the Accounts Clerk (the individual that processes monthly fi nancial transactions) and the Debtors and Creditors Clerk functions.
Payroll and Monthly SARS returnsThe skills programme will revise the manual monthly bookkeeping function. It will introduce learners to payroll and the Basic Conditions of Employment Act as well as basic business ethics. Learners will be able to complete the payroll function from the bookkeeping perspective. A learner will be able to complete the SARS payroll returns (EMP201, IRP 5, IT3a, IRP501). Learners will also be able to complete the VAT201 return.
Computerised BookkeepingIt is essential that the Junior Bookkeeper be able to complete the monthly bookkeeping function on a computer. Learners must demonstrate this competence in Microsoft Excel and Pastel Accounting. Learners are required to submit an assignment completed in both Excel and Pastel.
Financial StatementsThis learning area provides skills for the Senior Bookkeeper. It incorporates depreciable asset disposal, year-end adjustments, preparation and analysis of fi nancial statements for sole proprietorship, partnerships, close corporations and companies. It includes a comprehensive study of cash fl ow statements.
Cost and Management AccountingThis programme completes the skills necessary for a Senior Bookkeeper. Learners are introduced to the accounting for a manufacturing concern, break even analysis, cost-volume-profi t analysis, budgeting and standard costing, fi nancial management and business ethics.
Income Tax ReturnsThis programme involves a thorough study of taxation. Learners will be able to compute taxable income and tax payable for individuals and businesses, submit tax returns, acquire a working knowledge of estate duty and provide taxation planning advice to clients.
