Introduction• In June 2014, Dr. John R. Nofsinger became the William H. Seward

Endowed Chair in International Finance at the University of Alaska in Anchorage. Dr. John R. Nofsinger maintains membership with the Financial Management Association International (FMA).

Founded in 1970, FMA merges the interests of practitioners and those who work in the academic sector. It boasts more than 3,000 members across the globe. FMA publishes research and findings on key financial issues and hosts an annual financial conference.

Scheduled for October 19-22 at the Rio Suites Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, the 2016 FMA Annual Meeting, provides a place for researchers to share new findings and discuss current issues pertaining to financial management.

Financial Management Association• The conference also features panel discussions,

presentations of research papers, and tutorials on a wide range of financial topics, including corporate investment policies, shareholder activism, and high-frequency trading.

The event’s keynote speaker is Dr. David S. Scharfstein, who is the Edmund Cogswell Converse Professor of Finance and Banking at Harvard Business School. Attendees also have an opportunity to participate in after-hours networking sessions, including luncheons, roundtables, and breakfasts.
