Reflection

Due to the fact my music taste is based in genre of “indie” I want to produce a magazine that reflects my love for this music so I need to create the magazine in a way that people within the “indie tribe” can relate to personally. My magazine will be aimed at a market of “indie” customers yet after looking at “find your tribe” I have seen the selection of different Tribes” I can aim at and I have decided that I would prefer to aim at a range of “tribes” as I am a lover of indie music I also love a range of other music also. Therefore I would like to create a magazine that reflects my interests. I also believe that most people are interested in a range of music genres; I think it is important that people listen to a range of genres as it makes life more interesting. NME is my inspiration as I think this magazine, aims at a large market with a range of genres available to read about. I think a lot of the information aimed at the “indie” tribe can apply to other genres too. “When you're not at a gig or listening to your IPod, you’re online making sure you're up on your music news”, I think this can be applied to all genres. most young people attend gigs or concerts of some sort and practically all teenagers own an iPod and listen to it regularly. I think it also applies to all genres that you try to keep up to date with music news. Looking at “Find your tribe” has given me some ideas for my own magazine. Id like to include information on gigs and concerts informing readers on things they can attend, making them feel more involved and improving their social life-allowing them to socialise with people who share the same music taste. “There’s nothing like a twang of a guitar to get your converse tapping” for my magazine I want to create a connection for the love of the guitar and involve the readers by teaching them (issue by issue) cords, building up to play songs. I think many people who like different genres would be interested, I do not believe it applies to just “converse” wearing people, many people are interested in musical instruments. Its something new and different and offering readers the chance to learn may be a huge pull.
