comb and raised the standard of the interior throughout,” says Andy. “We redecorated, updated elements such as the wiring and the heating, and generally brought everything up to modern standards while being careful to maintain the property’s character and charm. We also added a beautiful garden room, which links the main house to the former coach house. It’s a lovely big space that has three sets of bi-fold doors, so effectively one entire wall can be opened up to a large decked terrace, which leads onto the garden beyond.”

“It was definitely the location that originally attracted us to this property,” says Andy. “The house is tucked away along a quiet lane and so the setting has a countryside feel, but it’s also close to the station, excellent road links and everything one could possibly want or need on a day-to-day basis is no more than a stone’s throw away; in my mind it couldn’t be more ideal.”


In the summer we gravitate to the garden room where we can push back the doors and spill out onto the deck

for big family BBQs, but when it’s cold and dark outside we tend to favour the formal living room, which is a large but cosy feeling space with a big open fire.


The house was originally two properties, one which was a coach house and the other which was the main house. We’ve joined the two by adding the beautiful garden room, but the coach house, which has two bedrooms, a kitchen, a lounge and a dining room,
