The Save Command

Is used to save a newly created presentation or to save thechanges you make to an existing presentation.

Is used to save an existing presentation with a new file nameor a new file format or to save it to a new location.

Slide Layout:

Is a predefined template that determines the placement of textand content on a slide.

Contains placeholders for text, picture, and other slidecontent.

Can be used to create a new slide or can be applied on anexisting slide.

Problem Statement:

want to use this opportunity to introduce the new manager whois taking charge of the finance department. You have a copy ofhis resume with his photograph. Although you might not fill allof this information in immediately, you want to haveplaceholders.

Are available for most of the functional groups on the Ribbon.

Work with Themes

Themes:

Are design templates that provide a consistent visual look andfeel for presentations.

Can be applied to all slides or only to the selected slides in aPresentation.

Affect the background color of a slide and also that of adiagram, table, or any other component in the slide.

Have three formatting components: Theme Colors, ThemeFonts, and Theme Effects.

Can be applied using the options in the Themes gallery.

Use the Various Presentation Views

Types of Presentation Views:Normal:

Is the default view in PowerPoint.

Is used to create and edit slides.

Slides Sorter:

Enables you to view all slides in your presentation at the sametime.

Is used to move, copy, delete, and hide slides.

Notes Page:Enables you to view the contents of the Notes pane in full pageformat.

Is used to edit the notes content.Slide Show:

Shows a presentation on-screen, one slide at a time.

Insert Clip Art and Pictures

Clip Art:

Is a collection of pictures, photographs, movies, and sounds.

Is available in PowerPoint as Clip Art gallery.

Can be inserted using the Clip Art button in the illustrationgroup of Insert tab.

Insert a Table from Microsoft Word

External objects can be used in an application in two ways:

Linking:

Data is physically stored in the source file, which is the file that

originally contains the object.

Embedding:

A copy of the data is physically embedded in the destination fileand does not change if you modify the source file.
