After Finiglas produced 400m² of curved insulated panes for the courtyards at the AZ
Zeno Hospital in Knokke, Belgium, they are now producing curved elements for the
facade in Duelmen, Germany. The architecture of the hospital being built in Knokke is
completely tailored to the needs of the patients. Curved shapes and plenty of daylight
enhance the patients’ well-being. In cooperation with the Semco safety glass factory
in Nordhorn, the Semcoglas Group is producing nearly 2400m² of curved toughe-
ned and laminated safety glass panes for the circumferential outer facade. These are
exclusively model panes which are silk-screened in a complicated process in Nordhorn
and bent, pre-stressed and laminated at Finiglas in the final finishing process.
Not a conventional hospital
A complex, point-fixed double facade domina-
tes the view of the shopping mall in Lublin, Po-
land. The curved panes give the shopping cen-
ter its dynamic, modern look. Finiglas delivered
485 m² of curved insulated glass with white la-
minated safety glass made of toughened safety
glass (heat-soak-tested) to Glass Mal’s Polish
partner. Openings and counter-bores provide
the connection points for the support struc-
ture. With these elaborately produced, white
glass insulated panes, the entire glass facade of
the shopping center not only offers a visually
appealing impression, but also the best safety
conditions.
