 FINISH STANDARDS

Finish Standards have been developed by the Office of the University Architect to help provide a more cohesive  look to the campus as a whole, as well as allowing for more efficient Zone Maintenance and faster project delivery.  Several deciding factors went into these selections, including cost, maintenance, and availability, as well as environmental  factors  such as  recycled content and  indoor air quality.   All requests  for  new  finishes  are  to  go  through  the  FAST  Service  Request  process  via  the  Facilities Management website at http://fastrequest.csuohio.edu/

These standards shall be used for all FAST Service Requests.

OUA projects may deviate from (but coordinate with) these standards  with written approval from the OUA Interior Designer and Facilities Director.

Digital/print copies of Finish Standards DO NOT match actual samples.

Office of the University Architect and Facilities Management have sample binders for use on FAST Requests.

PAINT STANDARDS

Finish  Standards  are  based  upon  the  ability  of  spaces  to  be  “maintainable  and  transferrable”.  Standardized colors provide a more cohesive look to the campus as a whole, as well as allowing for more efficient Zone Maintenance.   Several deciding factors went  into these selections,  including what office colors are already primarily used on campus  (Dover White, Antique White, Bone White), utilizing  the “Official University Color Palette” but toning the colors down to be suitable for wall‐sized applications, and specifying a paint product that has zero VOCs for better indoor air quality.   OFFICES: To be painted one color throughout:

Harmony’s Formaldehyde Reducing Technology has been tested by a

third-party laboratory. Compared to conventional paints, Harmony’s enhanced

formula offers a clear advantage for improved indoor air quality.

BREAKTHROUGH INNOVATION.

EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE.

EXCLUSIVE FORMULA.

Harmony Paint — long known for its premium

performance in a zero VOC formula — now contains

Formaldehyde Reducing Technology, which helps

promote better indoor air quality by reducing airborne

concentrations of formaldehyde and other aldehydes.

This unique technology actually helps reduce the levels

of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from potential

sources like insulation, carpet, cabinets, fabrics and

other building materials.

In addition, Harmony contains Odor Eliminating

Technology, which reduces ambient odors of organic

origin, like pet, cooking and smoke odors — making

it ideal for multi-family, healthcare, institutional,

commercial and residential projects. This zero VOC

formula meets the most stringent VOC regulations.

Harmony contains anti-microbial agents which

minimize deterioration of the paint film caused by mold

and mildew and extend the useful life of the paint.

Harmony Paint provides great coverage, a finish that

lasts, reduces interior odors and helps promote better

indoor air quality.

*The length of time Harmony actively reduces odors and formaldehyde depends on the concentration, the frequency of exposure and the amount of painted surface area.

• Formaldehyde Reducing Technology helps improve indoor air quality by reducing VOCs from possible sources like insulation, carpet, cabinets and fabrics.*

• Odor Eliminating Technology helps reduce common indoor odors so rooms stay fresher, longer.*

• Anti-microbial agents inhibit the growth of mold and mildew on the paint surface and inhibit the growth of bacterial odors.

• Zero VOC formula tinted with ColorCast Ecotoner® Colorants that do not add VOCs when tinted.

• Great hide and a durable finish that withstands frequent washings.

• Available in flat, eg-shel and semi-gloss.

BRAND GUIDELINES CLEVELAND STATE UNIVERSITY / / 5

GENERAL USAGE

Cleveland State University’s official brand color is a dark green, known as ‘University Green’. A lighter, bolder version, ‘Fresh Green’, is considered CSU’s secondary brand color.

UNIVERSITY GREEN

The offiicial CSU color, University Green is to be used on more formal pieces, such as certificates or formal invitations. It should be used in full saturation whenever possible.

FRESH GREEN

Fresh Green acts as a secondary green in the CSU palette, and is to be used in conjunction with University Green. For more informal pieces, such as Admissions or other student-targeted purposes, Fresh Green can be the predominant color.

SECONDARY COLOR PALETTES

A palette of supporting colors are permitted with limited use. Again, all materials are to be predominately green.

For more information on the primary color palette, go to csuohio.edu/marketing. Any questions can be directed to University Marketing.
