Disc golf is a lot like traditional "ball" golf,except players use specially made plasticflying discs instead of balls and clubs, andthrow them for 'par' at an above-ground tar-get instead of a hole in the ground. Thereare different types of discs used for differ-ent purposes, much like ball golfers usedifferent clubs. The object of the game is tothrow a golf disc into the target, typically a"Pole Hole"" basket (a steel basket overwhich chains hang), in the fewest numberof throws. The player begins by 'driving'from a designated tee area and continuestoward the target, throwing each consecu-tive shot from the spot where the previousthrow has landed. Finally, a successful'putt' sends the disc into the target. Themost satisfying sound a disc golfer can hearis the 'ching!' of a disc crashing the chainsbefore dropping into the basket. Comelearn the fundamentals of disc golf, rules,etiquette, and identify strategies, tech-niques, and personal skills needed in discgolf.
