Introduction

Thank you for taking an interest in our organisation.

First Aid International Ltd was created in 2007 by a team ofpeople who have been designing first aid programmes for thelast 20 years. Our international operation is managed from ourheadquarters conveniently located in the East Midlands.

Our aim is to provide a complete training solution for anyonewho wishes to deliver first aid training.

Our training solution is sufficiently adaptable to be used by all organisations from large corporate entities who wishconsistent, cost effective training across multiple sites to thesmall training facilities catering for the needs of small andmedium businesses.

Our programmes are used to great effect in charities, local and national government and educational establishments.

The Training System

Guidelines

We follow international resuscitationguidelines issued through theInternational Liaison Committee onResuscitation (ILCOR) and interpretedby local resuscitation councils, first aidguidance from the Ambulance Serviceand voluntary Ambulance Services andadapted for the purposes of learning.

Our training system is complete from the Instructor Guide tothe issuance of the final certificate.

The training system has the rigidity to ensure that a consistentmessage is delivered wherever and by whoever combined withthe latitude to allow instructors to contextualise the content tothe candidates in the course to suit their environment orworkplace.

There is a full instructor guide with detailed lesson plans andlearning outcomes. The essential skills of first aid and basic lifesupport are delivered with the aid of short video clips, this issupported by real time demonstration and talk throughsessions.

The candidate workbook forms an integral part of the learningprocess. Participants train their peers in small groups fulfillingthe roles of trainer, trainee and patient/bystander in eachsession. This ensures that all candidates work through thefundamental elements of first aid and basic life support severaltimes building competence and confidence in each new skill.

Only when all attain a level of capability will the instructor addthe next step in the process.

Where appropriate we seek approval by national stakeholders.In the UK we are approved by the Health and Safety Executiveand Health and Safety Executive (Northern Ireland), in HongKong we are approved by the Department of Labour, in Dubai,the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services approve ourtraining system. In the Netherlands we have received approvalfrom the Dutch Resuscitation Council and statements ofequivalence from the Orange Cross.

All First Aid International training courses are delivered bytrained Instructors operating from approved training centres.Our approved training centres protect their customers byensuring training facilities are up to standards set out jointly byFAI and DCAS, they provide insurance to cover theircustomers and subscribe to follow the guidance provided.

Centre Management Information System (CMIS)

In 2011 we completed our investment into our CentreManagement Information System (CMIS) certificate processingapplication. CMIS is accessible 24/7. On here you can bookcourses, most will receive auto approval if all criteria is correct,register students and claim certificates. Once submittedcertificate reports are prepared and sent by e-mail to thecentre exams officer for printing. Typical turnaround using thissystem is less than 48 hours from submitting data to receivingcertificate reports.

We continue to invest in this system into the reporting functionso you can make more use of the information we store for you.You can now print your logo in full colour on the certificate ifyou are printing in house.

Cross over to First AidInternational

Are you already a first aid instructor? If so you could crossover to First AidInternational and benefit from thenational network of training centres andsupport that First Aid Internationalprovides.

You need to take the First AidInternational Instructor OrientationCourse with a certified First AidInternational Instructor Trainer and passthe Instructor Examination. This two dayprogramme will familiarise you with ourlearning methodology, materials andstandards and procedures.

Instructor Training

Our instructor courses will prepare you to instruct and assessour full range of courses. They are designed to train you todeliver our training system. As a benefit they are mapped tothe Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS)qualification, we can also offer this award along with theCTLLS and DTLLS. Instructor training can either take place atthe Dubai Corporation For Ambulance Services Head Quartersor onsite at your premises.

Once you are a certified First Aid International Instructor, youwill be eligible to instruct and assess for an approved First AidInternational training centre.

All First Aid International registered instructors and assessorsare kept up to date with any new or revised protocols such asresuscitation guidelines or first aid procedures.
