A Word from the Interim Pastor… Transition Team…Weeks ago you appointed a Transition Team to help lead your Church in this interim time. We have a fine Committee: Becky Milam is the Chairperson. Rick Massey is our Secretary. Other members of the team are: Sean Nolan, Evelyn Simpson, Myrna Moore, and Paul Schultz. We’ve met three times and this Team is hard at work. We have tried to have representatives from all aspects of the church’s life long-time members, some who have not been here a long time, and representatives from different areas of the church’s life. This group is not a Search Committee. They will lead the church in taking a hard look at every area of the Church’s life—and hopefully all the work

of the Team and Church will lead to a clear understanding of who you are, what your dreams are, and the quali-ties you want in your next Pastor. We need your Input…So on Sunday, March 6th we are asking every Adult and Youth Sunday School class to give the members 20 minutes of the Class time to fill out a questionnaire about different concerns you may have. The Team will take your answers and they will form part of the report that we will bring to the church about your hopes and dreams. Those folk not attendees at Sunday School, or absent that Sunday, can pick up a questionnaire, fill it out and re-turn it to the church office within five days. Sometimes church members feel they are not listened to. This will give every Adult and Young person a chance to express how you feel about your church. Weeks from now we will plan an all-church meeting to further get your feelings on the ministry and work of your church. Wednesday Nights at our Prayer time at 6:30 PM we are discussing our transition and using a very fine book called Building Bridges during the Interim. This is another opportunity to share in what we are doing together. We’re having a good time and we’d like you to join us. If you would like to express any opinions feel free to contact the Interim or some members of the Transition Team. Pray for your church…pray for Jennifer and for the church that this time will be helpful and healthy for the whole church family. Thank you for allowing me be your Interim Pastor. I’m having a good time at Pendleton and hope I can help. --Roger Lovette

Children’s Ministry need one or two more volunteers to serve on a rotational schedule for Children Chapel in worship during the sermon for 3 year olds - first graders. Children’s Chapel doesn’t require any teacher prep: there is an altar routine that children can participate in, bulletins to color and complete, and spiritual play items that can be gotten out by children independently. If you would be willing to serve as a Children’s Chapel leader please contact Julia Goldie Day or Barbara Blackmon.

Children’s Ministry is needing someone who would be interested in serving as a co-teacher in Preschool A ( 6 weeks- 2 years) in March and May only. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Julia Goldie Day. We have a new little one in Sunday School and need an extra set of hands to care for the youngest in our church family.

Thank You to all who participated in the Souper Bowl of Caring this month. We collected $783.97 for the Week-end Snackpacks program of the United Way of Anderson County. This will provide over 24 boxes of food and feed 196 children for a weekend!

Thank You to everyone who brought donations for the Children's Ministry Blessing Bags. The children were able to put together 77 Blessing Bags to bless those in our community experiencing difficult times.
