    First CBCI Mission to Sri Lanka

    Bodhgaya, 26th February 2011: The President of the Chakma Buddhist

    Congregation of India (CBCI), Bhikkhu Kushalapriya along with three

    newly full ordination bhikkhus, namely Bhikkhu Punyo Kitthi, Bhikkhu

    Dhammananda and Bhikkhu Subo Jyoti going to meditate in Sri Lanka on

    19th of March 2011.

    Recently, on 25th February, 2011, the CBCI organised Bhikkhu

    Ordination Ceremony for two Shramaneras. Ven. Ratna Jyoti

    Shramanera, who is the Treasurer of CBCI and also studying Diploma of

    Buddhist Philosophy, Meditation and Pali in the Mumbai University and

    other, was Ven. Subo Jyoti Shramanera from Bangladesh.

    On the ordination day, the Sangha Dana and lunch was organised at the

    Chakma Buddhist Temple in the morning and Ordination Ceremony

    was held at the International Meditation Centre, Bodhgaya, India at

    around 2:00 pm. The Ordination was conducted by Ven. Punyo JyotiMahathera, Chief Abbot of Moitri Vihar, Rangamati and also former

    General Secretary of Parbatya Bhikkhu Sangha, Bangladesh. The

    Ordination Ceremony was fully sponsored by the CBCI and the four

    members CBCI Mission to Sri Lanka will be sponsor too. During their

    trip to Sri Lanka, the three Bhikkhus will be stay for long term

    Meditation Retreat at the Na Uyana Forest Monastery and Bhikkhu

    Kushalapriya will return to India after three week visit in different forest

    monasteries.
