    Dear Friends,

Easter Sunday was two weeks ago now, but Easter Time extends for fifty days, giving us a lengthy period to fully celebrate all the ways which God brings new life into the world. As trees bud and flowers bloom, as days grow long and the weather warms, we glory in the new life emerging around us. As is written in the opening antiphon, “Cry out with joy to God, all the earth.” Alleluia!!

This weekend our young third graders encountered Jesus in their First Holy Communion. We congratulate them and wish them a lifetime of peace and joy that can only be experienced in communion with Jesus!

I am deeply grateful to all who participated in the nomination process for candidates for the Parish Pastoral Council. Currently we have several members who have graciously agreed to have their names placed in nomination, namely, AMY FLOWERS, ED DIXON, JOHN McEVOY. You will learn more about each candidate in the upcoming addition of the bulletin. Elections will be conducted in the narthex on the weekend of May 18/19. Please be sure to vote!

Our annual parish May Procession is this Wednesday, May 8th, beginning at 7PM in church. We will conduct our prayer service in church and process to the Marian Shrine in our Prayer Garden for the crowning of Mary and the Litany in her honor. We are happy to have Father Kyle Adamczyk, the parochial vicar of Saint Andrew Parish in Newtown, as our guest homilist. Please plan to attend this devotion in honor of our Blessed Mother and pray for her intercession for peace in our world, our families and in ourselves!

This coming Saturday, May 11th, Louis Monica, our assigned acolyte last summer and school year, will be ordained to the Order of Deacon in the chapel of Saint Martin of Tours on the campus of Saint Charles Seminary in Overbrook. Deacon Louis Monica will be here at Saint Robert’s on Sunday, May 19th to assist and preach at the 9AM Mass. Please pray for Louis and his classmates as they take this important step in their journey to the priesthood and come out on May 19th to express your congratulations and support for his ministry as deacon.

May 12th is Mother’s Day. All Masses that weekend will be celebrated for those Mothers whose names appear on the Remembrance envelopes. These envelopes will be placed before the Holy Family Shrine and will be remembered daily in my prayers throughout the month of May.

During this month of May let us beg the intercession of our Blessed Mother for the graces we need to grow ever more closely to Her Son, our Redeemer and Lord!

    With prayers,

    The Third Sunday O

    f Easter

The families in our Monday, Family and Summer PREP programs made Easter baskets for children. Members of SJR Service Corp along with a Brownie troop also contributed baskets. Through their generosity, we sent 306 Easter baskets to FEAST to be distributed to children in need.

Annual Parish May Procession — May 8,

    2018 @ 7:00 PM — Bring Your Rosary!

Our guest homilist will be Fr. Kyle Adamczyk,

Parochial Vicar, St. Andrew Parish in

Newtown. Father was ordained in 2018.

One of the most beloved Catholic devotions is a

May Procession to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary.

It is designed to give praise and thanks to Al-

mighty God and his Son, Jesus Christ through the

intercession of our Blessed Mother. The ceremony

and procession will be no more than one hour.

Once again we will crown Mary in our beautiful

    prayer garden!

PLEASE NOTE: The First Communion classes are invited

to join us and it would add so much to our celebration if

they groups would wear their outfits. Please have the

children arrive in the Narthex at 6:30.

10 Ways to Harness Easter Joy Each Day

1.Begin each day by thanking God for all the good things in your life.

2.Give God all of your fears and worries.

3.Offer up the suffering and disappointments you experience.

    4.Do something nice for someone.

5.Be a forgiving person. Let go of anger and resentments that drag down your

    spirit.

6.Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the emerging springtime.

7.Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Learn to laugh at your self.

8.Find ways to show family members and friends how much you appreciate them.

9.Try to live more simply. Clear out material possessions that are not essential to your happiness.

10.End each day by thanking God for all the good things in your life.

FOCUS ON FAITH THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER Acts 5:27-32, 40b-41; Revelation 5:11-14; John 21:1-19 In today’s Gospel, Jesus challenges Peter to love him in a total, unconditional way. But before he does this, Jesus shows his overwhelming love for Peter and the other apostles. He gives his fishing disciples such a massive catch that their nets could barely hold it. This is a wonderful example of how God desires to bless us more than we could ever imagine! Spend time this week thinking about some of the ways God has given you

    unexpected gifts or blessings.

For reflections on the Sunday Gospels, check our OPEN THE WORD YEAR C on FORMED.

Need to register: go to the formed.org and enter the St. Robert’s parish code: 46KPWV and register

THE CATHOLIC CHARITIES APPEAL FOR 2019 “GIVING HOPE TO ALL” We would like to thank everyone who, thus far, has made a gift to the Catholic Charities Appeal. The Catholic Charities Appeal is a time for our parish to come together to extend our love, generosity and concern to those who need it most. So far, our parish has raised $91,828 from 281 contributors. Out of approximately 2300 families, this represents approximately 12% of our parish population. For those who have not yet contributed to the Appeal, we ask that you prayerfully consider showing your support to this great call for action. Taking care of those in need is one of the most important things we can do as Catholics. We look forward to your continued generosity for the success of the Appeal, for those most in need. Pledge forms are located in the Narthex and the side entrance. Donations can be dropped in the collection basket or mailed directly to CCA. Please do not mail cash. If you should you have any questions please contact the Appeal office at 215.587.3651 or visit www.CatholicCharitiesAppeal.org

RESPECT LIFE At eight weeks, the baby is capable of feeling pain; all body systems are present; sucks thumbs, wakes and sleeps. This is the time when most abortions are performed. "The greatest gift of God, I would think, is the gift of life. The greatest sin of humans, it would seem, would be to return the gift ungratefully and unopened."

    John Powell, S.J.

INTERFAITH CANDLELIGHT VIGIL Hosted by The Knights of Columbus Council 15590

Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Route 413 and Cold Creamery Road

Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Saturday, May 11th at 6:00 pm

Recent laws passed in states like New York allowing abortion up to the moment of birth (infanticide) "We are following our hearts and need to make a statement to our community and Pennsylvania that we disapprove and will not stand for these radical laws,"said SK George Jackson. There will also be several speakers from our various pro-life centers as well as some of our local politicians. We invite all to come and join us in this peaceful, prayerful vigil to send a message to our extremely pro-abortion Governor as well as our state legislators that we will not accept any drastic laws allowing infanticide in Pennsylvania.
