www.immanuelschoollambeth.or .uk   Tuesday 4  th January 2011 Dear Parents/Carers, Starting the New Year with high aspirations 1. 100% Attendance and Punctuality   All children achieving 100% attendance for 2011 will be rewarded with an invitation to our school’s summer dance/disco in the last week of term in July 2011  100% punctuality will ensure you and your child will not be asked to enter and exit the school in the morning via a different school gate as we will be re-introducing closing the main school gates at 9.00 a.m. on certain mornings to encourage improved punctuality 2. Swine Flu guidance re-circulated   Alike to last year, the school will follow advice from the Health Protection Agency on all matters to do with dealing with outbreaks of any infectious illness   That advice is currently that similar to situations involving the management of cases of chicken pox and measles, if there is an outbreak of swine flu in your child’s class then a letter will be sent home to advise you accordingly. The advice is that you do not keep  your child off school following any outbreak of any infectious disease, unless specified.  Please note that we will be increasing our efforts to raise awareness of good hygiene with  the children to minimise any possibility of passing on infectious illnesses. 3. New Year’s Resolutions For the past few years we have enjoyed challenging ourselves to improve our school and its community though making small changes that we refer to as our ‘resolutions’  For our children – re-emphasizing the importance of our Ps and Qs (Pleases & Thank  Yous) and the importance of good manners  For our Christian distinctiveness – every day publically sharing grace before we eat our lunch. All the children will be invited to observe this grace as well as join in with an ‘Amen’ to show that they agree with the thanks and praise shared.  For our community – we will be encouraging all of you to do you bit for your local community. There can be no better and simpler way of doing this than by becoming a blood donor. Giving blood is free and simple and we will be encourage our children to encourage you to register to become a blood donor. Our nearest donor centre is at St Georges Hospital, Tooting where there are dedicated parking spaces and an average donation takes approximately 10 minutes. Register at www.blood.co.uk  Happy New Year to all our children and their families and thank you for your support with achieving  these aspirations set.  Yours sincerely, Mr Robinson Headteacher IMMANUEL & ST.
