ST. PAUL ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH MANY CULTURES, MANY COUNTRIES, MANY LANGUAGES IN ONE BODY: ST. PAUL’S FAMILY
TODAY’S GOSPEL Jesus said to his disciples: "As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love. "I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy might be complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one's life for one's friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. I no longer call you slaves, because a slave does not know what his master is doing. I have called you friends, because I have told you everything I have heard from my Father. It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you…………. nd appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you. This I command you: love one another."

ST. PAUL’S FIRST COMMUNICANTS AND CROWNING OF MARY, OUR BLESSED MOTHER
MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR
I am so excited to be able to preside at the First Communion Mass where 41 children are going to receive Jesus Christ for the first time. I am also happy to see their parents, who have been helpful to the Religious Education Program, to the teachers, and to their children. As pastor, I appreciate the hard work and dedication of the Catechists, and Kathy Militello, the Coordinator of the Religious Education program. This would not have been possible without their time, love, support and commitment. Congratulations to all the First Holy Communicants for receiving Jesus Christ into their hearts. God Bless you. Fr. Leonardo Jaramillo
Padre Leonardo Jaramillo

STEWARDSHIP IS A WAY OF LIFE
“This is my commandment: love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s
friends.”- John 15:12-13
Do you love Jesus? Do you consider Him your friend? Jesus says that if we love Him we would be willing to offer whatever we have to Him, not because we want praise and glory, but simply because we love Him. Does your giving seem mechanical out of obligation or do you share freely out of love?

GOSPEL REFLECTION
Throughout Jewish history it was traditional for Jews to demonstrate repentance through washing ceremonies. John the Baptist was preaching repentance for the coming of God's reign. His baptism may have been related to the purifying washings of the Essenes at Qumran near the
was God's anointed one. John answered that his baptism was only a preparation for "one mightier" who would
aptize with "the Holy Spirit and fire" (v 16). Although Jesus had no need of repentance, he entered the murky waters where the people had been baptized, thereby uniting himself with sinful humanity. The baptism of Jesus was another "epiphany," or manifestation of the divine presence. While Jesus was praying, the Spirit descended upon him, and God's voice was heard confirming Jesus as the "beloved Son" (v.22). On Calvary, Jesus would undergo a baptism of fire that would bring salvation to the whole world (Lk 12:49-50). This transforming fire would be poured out on the Church at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4).
PARISH MINISTRY “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” 1 Peter 4:10
Jesus, the Lord and Master, in turn, calls the disciples his friends rather than his servants. Friendship with God certainly entails a loving relationship which goes beyond mere duty and obedience. Jesus' discourse on friendship and brotherly love echoes the words of Proverbs: A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity (Proverbs 17:17). The distinctive feature of Jesus' relationship with his disciples was his personal love for them. He loved his own to the end (John 13:1). His love was unconditional and wholly directed to the good of others. His love was also sacrificial. He gave the best he had and all that he had.
personal love for them. He loved his own to the end (John 13:1). His love was unconditional and wholly directed to the good of others. His love was also sacrificial. He gave the best he had and all that he had. He gave his very life for those he loved in order to secure for them everlasting life with the Father. True love is costly. A true lover gives the best he can offer and is willing to sacrifice everything he has for the beloved. God willingly paid the price for our redemption — the sacrifice of his only begotten Son. That's the nature of true friendship and love — the willingness to give all for the beloved. True friends will lay down their lives for each other. Jesus tells us that he is our friend and he loves us whole-heartedly and unconditionally. He wants us to love one another just as he loves us, whole-heartedly and without reserve. His love fills our hearts and transforms our minds and frees us to give ourselves in loving service to others. If we open our hearts to his love and obey his command to love our neighbor, then we will bear much fruit in our lives, fruit that will last for eternity.

Parish Membership and Registration .
A special invitation is extended to every Catholic Family to be registered as a Parishioner at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. Registration forms can be found at the Parish Office. All adult Catholics are also invited register in the Parish. Likewise, young adults of working age are invited to register independently of their parents. This registration becomes important when your family members are receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, First Eucharist, Confirmation and Marriage. Registration in a Catholic Parish is also a requirement for those wishing to be a Baptism or Confirmation sponsor. Additionally, being a member of a Parish gives one the identity of belonging to a family, in this case, the family of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. In times of joy and in times of struggle, it is comforting to have the support of family. Being a registered Parish member assures you of that support.
