THE SIGNATURE MARATHON BOULDER DESERVES
After 3+ years in the making, the race was created to provide aninspirational, transformational event for the community to run and enjoy.
• Along with hiking & cycling, running is one of the strongest common bonds among Boulderites. Sneakers hitting the ground is the heart beat of this City.
• Running is an integral part of our daily lives, and true to the Boulder brand. • From Olympians to world-class athletes, every day taxpayers and everyone in between, we all run & train on the same streets of Boulder every day, as part of our recreational activity, but we do so separately.
• Boulder County residents consistently place on the top of leaderboards in city marathons around the U.S.; they deserve a venue to perform & shine in our home community.
• Currently, there is no long-distance (more than 10K) road race that brings our experiences and broader community together.
• Boulderthon™ is the answer - the race series brings one of our city’s great recreational pastimes together in a premier long-distance road race for the community.
Boulderthon™ is a Boston Marathon qualifying event, enabling runners to compete on a USATF certified, officially timed course. Results are shared with the Boston Athletic Association qualifying numbers of runners every year for the Boston Marathon.
The Boulderthon™ was created by an avid New York RoadRunners runner to spread the joy of marathons. Boulder, one ofthe great running hubs of the country, deserves a signature, premier marathon. We believe:
• Marathons bring people together, and are some of the most fun, memorable and inspiring days of the year in cities, for runners and spectators alike.
• Promoting the tremendous power of running to inspire, transform and improve lives.
• Sharing the community & beauty of Boulder, CO with the world.
