Store Observations
• Each of the following are observations that were made when walking into different stores or areas of the store.
Kohl’s Stores
• 1st – Bright blue on dress• 2nd – Not seeing bathing suits• 3rd – Sale signs
Joyce Leslie
• 1st - Went to the right • 2nd - Valentine clothes• 3rd - Cheap prices/sales
Famous Footwear
• 1st – Went to the right, Women’s• 2nd – Man asked if I needed help• 3rd – Noticed the flats
Maurces’
• 1st – Could not open door on left• 2nd – Went to the right• 3rd – Noticed the doors were not in the center
of store• 4th – Went to the left to see what was there
Maurce’s Sale
• 1st – Red “Sale” sign • 2nd – Looked at rack• 3rd – Hot pink comfortable pants
Barnes and Noble’s Bookstore
• 1st – Weight loss books• 2nd – Valentine’s display• 3rd – New Year’s resolutions take precedent to
the next holiday
Bridal Cottage
• 1st – Purple sash on a dress• 2nd – Small dress, possibly for a flower girl • 3rd – Wedding dresses are all on the left
Conclusion
• Right side is more prominent.• Bright colors stand out.• Color is not always the first thing that is
perceived.
