Some ideas for Missional Living…

Pray for a different neighbor each day of the week. 

Look for a way to serve a neighbor…

You may not be able to do the project yourself, but maybe your Sunday School class could. Maybe you could contact one of the deacons to get a group together to help: Cut down a neighbor’s dead tree, Clean out the gutters for an older couple, widow or single mom’s house. Rake the leaves or plant flowers. The important thing is for you to be the contact person and be there when the project happens.

 Invite a neighbor and some church friends over to watch a sporting event or season premier on TV. Invite your Sunday School class to watch your grandchild’s/child’s sporting event and talk to the other parents and grandparents that are also there watching their child or grandchild. Try to go to the same cashier at your local store when you go, even if the line is longer, talk to them each time you go, pray for them and after a couple of weeks, invite them to church. If you have a lot of children in your neighborhood, consider hosting a three day “Backyard Bible Club” at your house. With some advanced planning, a few Sunday School classes might get together with you to be able to share the work. The church can supply curriculum, game, and craft ideas if you need them. Have some friends from church over for a meal and invite a neighbor to join you. Have your Sunday School class do a picnic at the park and everybody invite an unchurched friend to attend. The church could buy the hot dogs and hamburgers for the event.

Our church will once again be hosting a Fall Festival Celebration on October 31st for children in Fulton and Callaway County. There will be games, food and candy. If you would be willing to help please contact Doug Roderick at 573-220-3002 or dougroderick7@gmail.com.

Praise Notes Choir for children kindergarten – sixth grade

meets on Sunday evenings 5-6 pm on the third floor. They will be

rehearsing music for Christmas time, if you have any questions please talk to Amanda Kerr.

Adult Choir Join us Sundays at 5:00 for our Christmas Choir rehearsal.  We will be working on music to lead worship December 8, 15, and 22 in both the 8:30 and 11:00 services. I look forward to leading worship with you this Christmas season.

Kickoff meetingfor Murphy Baptist Women

WMUFBC Women! If you would like to be involved in local mission projects, we are inviting women to join us on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 @ 7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall for our Kickoff meeting. The Murphy Baptist Women WMU group meets once a month throughout the year, and work on different missions projects at ladies homes, and enjoy fellowship along the way!This month we want to support “Bling Fling for SERVE”. Please bring any old purses, jewelry, costume jewelry, mismatched jewelry, or old scarfs. SERVE will refurbish the items and have them ready to sell at the Christmas Parade in December.Please join us if you would like to learn more

about mission opportunities within our church. We will have light refreshments, and explain our upcoming monthly activities.
