Fiscal Year 2013
Annual Report
A Message from the
President and CEO
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to browse Prestera Center’s Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2013. I have just completed my first year at the Center and am very proud of the high quality behavioral health and substance abuse services offered by Prestera Center and its staff. Fiscal Year 2013 has been a year of redesign of internal process-es. We have spent time and energy designing systems to meas-ure program performance, including client satisfaction. Efficiency and effectiveness of programs remains a top priority. We have formed new partnerships and relationships and look forward to continuing the integration of behavioral health and primary care services throughout the communities that we serve. Looking forward to Fiscal Year 2014, our focus on organizational performance and positive outcomes for the individuals we serve will continue. Several new programs are under development, in-cluding a residential crisis stabilization unit in Logan, a long-term addictions recovery home in Mason County, school-based ser-vices in Logan County and a regional youth substance abuse ser-vice. We will be improving our services through the use of ex-panded and innovative technology. The dedication of the employees to providing high quality behav-ioral health services to every one of the individuals, families, em-ployers and communities that Prestera Center serves is simply amazing. Please, take a moment to read our annual report.
Since 1967, Prestera Center for Mental Health Services has provided mental health and substance abuse treatment to over 20,000 children, families and adults annually. Mr. Hansen retired as the President and CEO of Prestera Center on Sep-tember 30, 2012. During the 22 years he served in a leadership role at Prestera Center, he worked tirelessly to improve the lives of people liv-ing with mental illness and substance abuse problems. He dedicated his professional career to expanding services to meet the growing needs of individuals in our community. During his tenure, the organization grew to a forty-four million dollar company which employs 850 staff, and serves over 20,000 adults, chil-dren and families annually in fifty-three service locations across eight counties in West Virginia. Mr. Hansen’s faithful service to the organiza-tion resulted in explosive growth from the time he took command of Prestera Center in 1990. His leadership has been transformational. Prestera Center is a vibrant organization with a bright future. The expansion of services mirrors our mission: “a united effort dedicated to helping people achieve their full potential.” Mr. Hansen left an indelible mark on our community, our cli-ents, and our staff. Prestera Center continues to provide the highest quality services. The dedication to helping people achieve their full po-tential continues with every individual seen. Mr. Hansen: Thank you for your many years of dedicated service.
