We have to admit it. We have to be ac-countable. We are the reason that many people in the United States of America

north of the Florida/Georgia line dread win-ter even more than most - especially in No-vember. Here we have the only fishing, diving and boating magazine in the Florida Keys who completely cover the saltwater lifestyle with VI-BRANT pictures to boot.

The last leaves will fall in Chicago, Illinois as someone reads the “Thanksgiving Proclama-tions” written by Captain Bobby Manske out of Marathon. He says he loves turkey, but unlike everyone else in the country, his turkey is served near a beach with palm trees. It’s hard to take as the first windshield gets scraped.

Somebody in Cleveland, Ohio will take a break from winterizing their boat and read about Captain Mike Makowski’s flannel under-wear comment and chuckle at the thought of sixty degrees being cold. There’s nothing like a cold winter blow over a Great Lake.

Reading the guest column by Jeffrey Bout-well titled “Hemingway as Naturalist” will eat at the saltwater soul of the Buffalo, New York reader who just got his overused snowblower

serviced. He is hoping that this year he won’t have such an intimate relationship with his snow machine as he had last year. There’s noth-ing like a visual of Ernest himself, fishing the deep blue Florida Straits in the name of science. It’s enough to drive a snowman insane. We ad-mit that.

But here’s the beauty of it all, and our goal. You can come see us this winter. Reach out to the writer that stirs you the deepest and ask them to take you on how you can take a GREAT WIN-TER ESCAPE within the borders of the great-est country on the planet. No need for a passport here in the good old USA. When you’re plan-ning your trip, you can always reach out to us here at FishMonster Magazine on Facebook or by e-mail [email protected].

The seasons are definitely changing, even here in the Keys. This month’s issue is packed with fall fishing, diving and boating experiences. Enjoy!
