Welcome to the YMCA FitLife Center, home of the 12 week First Step Fitness Program (FSF).

FSF is the habit forming plan for physically inactive individuals who need structure to help them develop the basic physical and psychological skills needed to exercise regularly. In response to our members, and utilizing the successful 12 week FSF model, we have developed focus times to address specific wellness concerns.

Please note on the schedule that a few of these dedicated time slots, Cardiac Rehab and the DMII Program (Type II Diabetes Mellitus Program), are closed to general membership. Others are available to all FSF participants and we encourage you to try any focus time that addresses your specific wellness goal. The schedule still has plenty of Open FSF hours available for those whose goal is to enhance general wellness and best addressed through regular attendance and steady progression. All are included with your Facility membership. Call Dawn at 773.3646 ext. 428 with questions or for more information.

FirSt SteP FitneSS (FSF) - The basis of all FitLife Center programs, FSF utilizes an individualized, step-by-step approach that focuses on cardiovascular endurance and resistance training with an emphasis on regular attendance.

LiFeStYLe MAnAgeMent - for individuals living with the effects of chronic disease. Conditions such as CVD, COPD, Parkinson’s Disease, MS, Type II Diabetes or those who have suffered a heart attack or stroke will benefit .

dMii ProgrAM - A comprehensive diet, exercise and education program for people who are pre-diabetic and those diagnosed with Type II Diabetes Mellitus. Room closed to DMII participants only.

Weight LoSS MAnAgeMent - Learn how to lose weight by exercising regularly and eating right. Utilizing several weight management tools including weekly weigh- ins and food journaling.

FunCtionAL FitneSS - functional training adapts or develops exercises which allow individuals to perform the activities of daily life more easily and without injuries.[ Exercises are based on functional tasks directed toward everyday life activities such as standing up from a low chair or sofa, balance work, and grip strength to name just a few.
