Five Little Pumpkins
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate.
The first one said, “Oh my, it’s getting late!”
The second one said,
“There are witches in the air.”
The third one said, “But we don’t care.”
The fourth one said, “Let’s run and run and run.”
The fifth one said, “It’s Halloween fun!”
Then “OOOoooooooo” went the wind and OUT
went the lights and the five little pumpkins rolled
out of sight!

Notes about Five Little Pumpkins
Print the picture cards and the sentence strip cards. Cut the picture cards on the circles and laminate. You can place Velcro on the back and use them on the flannel board OR tape them onto popsicle sticks for acting out OR staple them onto white sentence strips to make crowns – if you do this use a paper clip to close the crown on each child – I find this easier than stapling it closed because not each child’s
head is the same size!! Cut the sentence strips on the lines. Laminate. Place on the pocket chart. Use a seasonal pointer – pumpkin pencil with a pumpkin eraser
works perfectly.
Read the poem and have the children act as the pumpkins. Have them say the words for each pumpkin – my class loves this one each year!
