Five Points #5 – The Most Dangerous Prayer

Matthew 6:10Mark 14:32-41Romans 8:28

(8/3/14)

Wesley Covenant PrayerI am no longer my own, but thine. Put me to what thou wilt, rank me with whom thou wilt. Put me to doing, put me to suffering. Let me be employed for thee or laid aside for thee, exalted for thee or brought low for thee. Let me be full, let me be empty. Let me have all things, let me have nothing.

April 20, 2014

And now, O glorious and blessed God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, thou art mine, and I am thine. So be it. And the covenant which I have made on earth,let it be ratified in heaven. Amen.

I freely and heartily yield all things to thy pleasure and disposal.

My Roller Coaster: The “Batman”

Bet

Death forces you to face your fears.

Death forces you to face life's meaning.

Mark 14:34 And he said to them, "My soul is very sorrowful, even to death;

remain here, and watch." 35 And going a little farther, he fell on the

ground and prayed that, if it were possible,

the hour might pass from him.

Mark 14:36 And he said, "Abba, Father, all things are possible to thee;

remove this cup from me;

yet not what I will, but what thou wilt."

37 And he came and found them

sleeping...

The point of life is not to get

through it without feeling.

Like John Wesley,

let yourself feel something.

The bravest thing is to

“let go” - to surrender.

Thy willbe done.

I kneel to pray, “Lord, let this cup pass from me today, But not my will

but thine be done...”

And in the Garden there alone,

Easter’s seeds were sown.

And there it was the victory was won.

As “My Life” ends...

Whatever it takes.

Rom 8:28 We know that

in everything God works for

good with those who love him,

who are called according to his

purpose.

“Let go” - Surrender. Thy will be done.

The next two slides are the call to worship for all of August.

On August 3, they will also appear at the beginning of the sermon.

Ken …

The next two slides are “The Prayer of Humble Access”

They are used on Communion Sundays only.

We do not presume to come to your table, Lord, trusting in our own

righteousness, but only in your mercy.We are not worthy to gather up crumbs under Your table, yet you welcome us

as your family.

Grant that, as we share in this sacrament of Your son, Jesus Christ, we may walk in newness of life, may grow

into His likeness, and may everymore dwell in Him and He in us. Amen.

Dear Ken …

Please put the following slide on the screen during the sharing part of Communion.

Thy will be done.Matthew 6:10

Whatever it takes.

Dear Ken …

Please put the following slide in the place of the Benediction.

In other words, it is the benediction slide and will be until at least the end of August.

Do something!

Now … Don’t just stand there!

Thank you for your ministry...
