Cabo is fascinating since it is located at the very tip of the extremely long peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. Diving in the Sea of Cortez can be an amazing experience for any diver, with shipwrecks, caves, reefs, and sandfalls to explore. The Sea of Cortez is considered to be one of the most fertile bodies of water in the world. This warm body of water sup-ports over 800 species of fish, from cold-water California-related species to tropical fish and pelagics such as whale sharks, giant manta rays and hammerhead sharks.

The Cabo San Lucas Bay provides excellent diving conditions. It is a unique area for diving since several of the finest snorkeling and scuba diving sites are only a 15 to 25 minute boat ride from the downtown ma-

rina. Diving conditions are great all year. June to December offer the greatest visibil-ity, warmest water and longest periods of calm weather. Visibility can exceed 100 feet, and the temperature averages between 78 and 85 degrees F. A deep submarine trench closely follows the bay and creates an un-usual marine environment that attracts an abundance of marine life. Here the water is warm and the currents are gentle.

For those who visit Los Cabos primarily for a diving experience, all-inclusive 8 or 9 day trips are available on liveaboard schooners. These vessels take passengers to remote destinations around the Revillagegidos Is-lands, about 300 miles southwest of Land’s End. Don’t leave your trip without experiencing the beauty of Los Cabos firsthand by kayak. Fascinating scenery can be seen from al-most anywhere in Cabo San Lucas - and the kayak gives you quite an advantage. You’ll be able to access unique areas and geog-raphy not possible by foot or larger water-crafts.

Kayakers have various options, some of which include going on a guided tour as part of a group or by themselves on a single or double kayak. If you choose to be in a guided group environment, you can opt for a half-day or full-day tour. The half-day tour starts at the marina and makes a stop

at Pelican Rock before heading to El Arco. Pelican Rock is so named because, you guessed it, pelicans land there often. Once you’re at this site, you may snorkel and get a pretty good view of the underwater marine life. After finishing with Pelican Rock, kay-akers head to El Arco which is less than a half mile away. El Arco is Spanish for “The Arch.” This is the famous rocky arch sym-bolic of Cabo. Here you’ll be able to view the sea lion colony up close.

If you’re interested in embarking on a full-day tour, you could visit the beautiful Chileno, Santa Maria, and Twin Dolphin bays.

Parasailing is a great complement to a day at the beach in Cabo San Lucas, one of the safest, most serene and tranquil experi-ences. Feel like flying? This is a short cut.

All parasailing equipment and top-notch crew are provided, so you are in profes-sional hands at all times. You may parasail in a bathing suit or fully clothed if that is what you feel more comfortable wearing.

Participants will depart the marina via small motor boat and transfer to the larger parasail boat which can carry 6-8 persons per outing. Each participant takes turns ‘flying’ approximately 8 minutes in the parasail.

Participants are harnessed while on the boat and are raised in the air by the para-chute off the soft deck at the aft of the boat and likewise pulled back to the same deck at the end of their flight.

Hovering some 400 feet above sea-level, participants will enjoy spectacular views of Cabo San Lucas, the marina, the arch, the rugged coast and the surrounding desert hills.

There are many ways to discover the coast line of Cabo San Lucas, however doing it by night from a hybrid stand up paddle-board that is illuminated by LED lights has to be one of the most fun and unique ways of doing it. There is nothing else quite like night paddle boarding and when you add coloured lights into the equation, you have an experience like no other.

Unlike kayaking and paddle boarding dur-ing the day, night paddle boarding is really not about how much distance you can cov-er, but more about the 2000 lumens of light that illuminates around 50 feet of the ocean around you and 15 – 20 feet down, this light attracts ocean dwelling sea life as well as anybody that catches sight of you and your fellow paddle boarders from the shore.

The hybrid kayak/stand up paddle cata-maran boards used for night paddling are unbelievably stable and there are places where you can keep your belongings dry so nothing has to be left on shore. You can take along liquid refreshments and paddle lying down, sitting down or standing up, which is great for those who have little or no ex-perience of paddle boarding and great for those who know the ropes. Paddle boarding is an eco friendly, healthy activity you can share with family or friends. You don’t need to be a strong swimmer, be very fit or have any special equipment. All of the packages and custom experiences offered come with a brief orientation and somebody on hand at all times to ensure you are getting the ul-timate night paddling experience.
