The Kingman and Mohave Manufacturing Associat ion Arizona (KAMMA) serves as the sector leader and is already engaged in sector strategy work. Develop a Gigabit Network Tactical Plan for the Region Communit ies with access to gigabit bro adband wil l have the long term advantage in developing science, technology, and digital products economies. This project wil l require the col laborat ion, c ooperat ion, and funding from the major inst itut ions, organizat ions, governments, and businesses to succeed.

Transportation Tactical Plan Transportat ion planning decisions and funding have become diff icult at best. The continuing fal lout of the downturn is the lack of local funds for major transportat ion projects needed for planned sustain able eff icient growth. Kingman in part icular which rel ies heavi ly on tourism, wil l benefit from a growing tourism and vis itor market as the nat ional economy improves leading to growth in the Sun C orridor that includes Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas, and Southern CA. In addit ion, we are seeing incremental growth in our major employers that are adding new jobs and new residents to the region. I f we are successful in growing startups and attract ing high qual ity companies that wil l p lace addit ional grow th pressure. This plan wil l ut i l ize the sector p rocess to create a viable plan that includes the priorit ies, funding, and project t imelines for projects such as the Kingman Crossing Interchange. Potential part icipants are The City, KRMC, ADOT, Federal Highways, Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce, Governor, Congressional and State Legislators.

For example K USD continues to win awards and high rankings for its innovative programs in STEM, robotics, and overal l achievement. Mohave Community Col lege has expert ly navigated budget chal lenges that have maximized the opportunit ies for stu dents and have been a cr it ical partner in development of workforce training program for industry and economic development. NAU has expanded its onl ine and Kingman campus bachelor degree offerings. The Western Arizona Vocational Education Joint Technical D istr ict excels at providing technical training and education that serves the needs of industry and the community as a whole. It also serves as the base for creat ing new businesses.

Business Expansion and Retention Committee Formation of a Business Attraction Committee (BRE)

As part of the formation of the Kingman Economic Development Col laborat ive, a Business Retention and Expansion Committee representing al l of the major community sectors wil l be formed. The work of the business retention committee is to create consort iums, col laborat ion, and leverage business retention and expansion resources to help exist i ng businesses solve the cr it ical issues that wil l a l low them to thrive. In addit ion, the sector development process of establ ishing opportunit ies matched against requirements wil l be a tool of the BRE committee to encourage and faci l i tate expansion of exist in g businesses in Kingman.

Metrics/Goals The goal of the work plan has and wil l continue to be creat ion of new high qual ity jobs for the region. Our def init ion of high qual ity jobs are jobs that carry benefits, potential for growth, and l ivable wages for the region. The process to create jobs many t imes results in capital and investment for research, development, bui ldings, equipment, design services, local goods and services. The tact ical plans for the major sectors also cal l for the development of capit al and investment in the region. Developing the specif ic job targets and investment goals wil l be developed as part of the development of each sector tact ical plan.
