Beginning promptly at 6:15 PM, the Flag Ceremony and prayer open our evening with all Clubbers reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, Pledge to the Christian Flag, Pledge to the Bible and Pledge to the Awana Flag. We then share praises and prayer requests and pray.

FLAG CEREMONY

During this general session time for each club, God’s Word is brought to life through Bible stories, object lessons, songs and prayer time.

LESSON TIME

During this time, the importance of God’s Word for practical living is emphasized. Awana leaders work individually with Clubbers as they progress through their handbooks. Parents are strongly encouraged to work with their children at home during the week on sections and activities in the handbook so the Clubber is prepared, including memorizing Bible verses each week! To memorize the reference and verse means that Clubbers will be able to say the verse and reference weeks or months after they passed a section because it’s “in their heart”!

HANDBOOK TIME

At this time, Awana goes into “high gear” with team and individual competition. Dozens of organized games encourage each Clubber’s participation.

The preschool ministry is for older 2 & younger 3 year olds. The basic Biblical concepts that “we are a unique creation of God” and “God loves us very much” are taught.

The preschool ministry for older 3- and 4-year olds. Handbooks combine basic Scripture memory with parent-child activities to help your child grasp simple Biblical truth.

This ministry is for children in 3rd – 5th Grades. The name reflects the passion of Awana to teach children the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives.

The early elementary ministry for children in kindergarten though 2nd grade. Children continue learning basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation and the Bible.

Awana is a ministry that assists churches in reaching children with the gospel of Jesus Christ and training them to serve Him. Reaching our young people is very important. Did you know that 85% of all people who do not accept Jesus Christ by age 18 never will? That’s why Awana offers a series of clubs and programs geared to the needs of a particular age or grade. As a vital part of our local church ministry, Awana clubs and programs effectively reach young people with the good news of Jesus Christ. Here at Grace Baptist Church, our Awana ministry works with other ministries to give our children a well-balanced emphasis on knowing Jesus and how we can live for Him and serve Him. This brochure is designed to give you a general overview of the Awana ministry at Grace Baptist Church!
