Flash makes life easier for Amsterdam Arena Amsterdam Arena is an extraordinary venue. It is the first stadium in Europe with a sliding roof, the home base of AFC Ajax and not only the location where home games are played, but also European Cup, KNVB international, cup and friendly matches. In addition, the Arena hosts concerts and dance events, meetings and conferences, product presentations, sales trainings and company parties. Each year, over 80,000 people visit the stadium for a tour. This many visitors requires a large team of staff that can efficiently communicate and ensure that all matches and events run smoothly. To achieve this level of efficient communication, the Amsterdam Arena uses radio communication via a TETRA system. Reach each other at the push of a button Martin Wielaart, technical production manager: “We specifically chose this system because of the range of possibilities it offers us. The TETRA system is put to optimal use at the Amsterdam Arena. All the departments work with two-way radios, which is important, because we are often dealing with large groups of people. Everyone from the security team to the cleaning crew must be able to communicate with each other at the push of a button.” Taking concerns off the customer’s hands The Arena chose to purchase all the required equipment from Flash Private Mobile Networks for in-house use and to outsource service and maintenance activities. Wielaart: “By purchasing the equipment, we can make each team member responsible for their own two-way radio. We were pleased to outsource the service and maintenance to Flash, because this takes a lot of concerns off our hands. If something is not working properly, it is quickly repaired or replaced. That way, we are always connected.” The TETRA system provided consists of a DAMM TetraFlex SB412 Multi Site Trunking system controller, two BS421 carriers, an Online Network Management system, a TetraFlex dispatcher system with three operating positions, a Motorola MTM800E fixed mobile radio and 140 Motorola MTP850 and CEP400 radios. www.flash-privatemobilenetworks.com
