Registered Student Organizations

Interested in starting a student organization? The registration period for new student organizations for Spring 2015 will be

from December 22, 2014 to January 23, 2015. Organizations that register dur-

ing this time period will get a $50 allocation from ASFLC. The online registration

form will be on the Leadership Center website. Existing organizations do not

need to re-register for the second semester (their initial registration was for the

entire school year). For any questions, please contact Chloe Canterbury.

Could your student organization use

more money?

Did you know there’s a way your RSO can receive money to go on a trip or even host an event? The Fi-nancial Allocation Board offers event and travel grants to help fund these activities.

In the past, RSOs have received travel grants to help cover the costs to attend conferences all over the United States. RSOs have also re-ceived event grants to bring speak-ers to campus, hold networking events, or even concerts!

The paperwork to apply for these grants can be found on the Leader-ship Center website. Currently, FAB has over $2100 for travel grants and $6700 for event grants left in their budget to award! Take advantage of this awesome resource! If you have any questions feel free to email Chloe Canterbury.

Are you looking to take your leadership to the next level?

The LEAD cohort program is comprised of four levels starting with Bronze, advancing to Silver, then Gold, and concluding with Plati-num. The cohort model allows each level to be run like a class or or-ganization that will meet once a week at the same time for several weeks in a row. This gives participants the opportunity to grow through a shared experience. By participating in LEAD, you will gain a better understanding of leadership styles, learn to recognize the power of a team, and develop the potential to create social change.

Student Wellness Initiatives

This month WellPAC presents “Stressed Out at Hogwarts” a stress management pro-gram with a Harry Potter twist to help you get through finals. Look for us in the Stu-

dent Union the week of December 8th!

In November, WellPAC members

Carly Marceau, Hannah Horn, Ra-

chel Clark, Danielle Lucero, and

Kevin Gardner presented on the

importance of authenticity and

meeting people where they are at

in peer education at the BAC-

CHUS Initiatives of NASPA’s an-

nual General Assembly Peer Edu-

cator Conference in Orlando, FL.

Get some exercise! Yoga, a quick run, ride your bike, or study while on the treadmill! Try to aim for 15-30 minutes.

Eat Healthy! Eating nutritious foods will energize you and increase your concentration and retention of information.

Catch Some Zzzzzzs! It’s never healthy to pull an all-nighter. But if you do, make sure to take a nap (20 minutes is best) to recover.

Know When to Say “NO”! Being involved and volunteering can make you feel good, but if you don’t have time, it’s ok to say “no”.

Ask for Help! Struggling in class? Talk to your professor, get a tutor, or form a study group. Consider talking to a counselor for an extra dose of stress management help. (Call 970-247-7212 to schedule a free session at the FLC Counseling Center.)
