1 Introduction
This document describes the functionality and scope of application of the Flexgateway. It is purpose is to give you an overview of the possibilities you have with the Flexgateway.
It contains a short introduction about installation and configuration of Flexgateway, but it is not a replacement for the installation manual.
This document also does not include any further information about described modules like Flexface, Flexmatic E, FatronicE2, the protocols Flexnet, Flexbus Slave and Flexbus Master. Please refer to specific documents of these parts for information.
The screenshots of devices may differ in visual nature because they have no branding or labelling.

2 Project Description
The Flexgateway is a device, which collects data from CAM Units over serial port or LAN interface. The CAM units can be connected directly over serial connection or over a LAN interface using the protocol translation device mHipA.
The integrated web server provides web pages to visualise the state of the units and to configure the units.
No additional Hirovisor software is needed.
2.1 Flexgateway connected on serial port

The example in Picture 1 shows us an installation with 2 CAM units.
The Flexgateway is connected to the installation by serial port.
All Flexfaces need to be connected to Flexgateway, which collects data from the units.

The example in Picture 2 shows us an installation with 2 CAM units.
The Flexgateway is connected to the installation Ethernet.
Each Flexface needs 1 mHipa to be able to communicate with the Flexgateway.

2.2.1 Typical installation with 2 or more floors

Picture 3 shows a typical installation over 2 floors. On every floor there are up to 24 CAM’s possible. Each CAM can handle up to 24 Master XTU’s.
1 FlexHipA is necessary per 1 floor, which collects data of the CAM units.
The FlexHipA’s are connected to a network switch, and pass on to the Flexgateway which provides the system visualisation for any supervisor pc.
Additionally there is the possibility to connect a Flexgateway – BMS to pass the data of the CAM units to a building BMS system by Modbus protocol.

3.2 Web interface This chapter describes the web interface of the Flexgateway.
3.2.1 Password protected web interface
To get access to the web interface it is necessary to insert a correct user name / password combination. At the moment there are 2 different security levels available.
User-Level:
This security level allows the operator to visualize standard values like “actual zone temperature”, “actual zone humidity”, …, as well as changing the “zone temperature setpoint”.
Expert-Level:
In addition to the mentioned points above, the expert is also allowed to change configuration settings of the CAM unit.
The predefined usernames and passwords are shown in Picture 5.

This plant layout allows to overview the whole building at once. Colours represent different unit states.
Meaning of background colours:
White: No unit configured for this floor Green: Floor has configured units and no alarms Red: Floor has configured units and one or more units are in an alarm condition Yellow: Actually marked floor

3.2.2.1 Room View By clicking at a floor, the room view will be opened.

For each room you can upload a background picture which symbolizes the room. All CAM units an XTU’s which are available in the list view, are shown as rectangle symbols an can be placed anywhere on the page.
Units and XTUs can be configured by pressing on the symbols.

To watch the actual values of the connected XTU’s you can expand the CAM view by pressing the the plus button.
A new list is shown with the typical XTU values
Units and XTUs can be configured by pressing on the list entry.

A popup menu shows all necessary information. Changes of zone and humidity setpoints are applied when pressing the “Apply” Button.
The buttons “Unit On”, “Unit Off”, “Alarm Ack” and “Alarm Reset” react immediately.

The configuration menu shows information about the XTU and allows changing the setpoint and the fan speed. The setpoint is applied when pressing the “Apply” button while the fan speed slider applies the changes immediately.

The Event Log shows all past and present events (60 entries/Unit) in chronological order including information like description, timestamp and event type. For a list of active alarms see 3.2.3.2 Active Alarms

3.2.4 Messaging

The messaging menu handles all tasks related to the messaging capabilities and SMS forwarding of Flexvisor.
Here you have to configure which recipients you want to be informed about any events occuring in your units. There are three massaging types: 'E-Mail' (only messaging), when the events of configured units must be sent via messaging system; 'SMS' (only SMS), when the events of configured units must be sent to mobile phones; last, 'E-Mail & SMS', when the same events of configured units must be sent via both system. You will be able to filter the events in which the recipient is interested in.

This site gives access to your unit's graphic-data-records, which can be viewed, archived and printed.
